Elements on the story were good but overall it was boring and the protagonist was really annoying, I disliked him throughout the whole story and thought he was weird. It was just a bit pretentious lol

brilliant suspence thriller

This was my second audio book and whilst I quite liked this book, I wasn't enthralled and quite dissapointed given the hype it received. The audio narration did a great job of making Theo a character you don't particularly like, with an arrogance and slyness to him that you just can't place. I found myself unsympathetic to his plight, which I guess was the intention. I also quite liked the narration of Alicia - her diary entries were some of my kost engaging bits But some of the other character voices started to grate on me - I guess that's the risk with an audio book! I also prefer to have a book with more likeable characters. There wasn't one person that i fely an undoubted loyalty to, and that's a big thing for me to enjoy a book.

Once the end reveal came, it was apparent how cleverly the plot had been crafted to lead the reader into a false sense of security and knowledge. I did, however, get a bit bored in the middle. For me the pace just lulled and didn't have me captured like i thought.
