Summary
There's nowhere left to hide.
The battle for the gap
In the north, the collapsed section of the Wall is defended only by the decimated remains of 2 PARA. Even reinforced by Jameson and the exhausted Royal Marines of One Troop, it's a doomed delaying action at best - and the last choke point in the entire ZA faces an incoming tide of dead stretching to the ends of the Earth....
The race for the cure
Finally united, Dr. Park and Aliyev the Kazakh, supported by Pred and Juice on a mission out into a London falling into chaos, struggle to perfect the vaccine that will preserve the dwindling flame of humanity - and to weaponize the designer pathogen that might just destroy the rampaging armies of the dead....
The defense of the Alamo
Hunkered down at CentCom, the unified ranks of our heroes, led by Ali and Fick, work furiously to fortify and reinforce what will be humanity's final fallback position - forever. But it may be over before it begins, as a runner invasion from the south hits even before the great wave of death coming in from the north....

A Veritable Battering of the Eardrums
This one's the audiobook equivalent of standing next to the speaker stacks at a 70s Hawkwind concert. A veritable and quite visceral battering of the ear drums as once again Michael Stephen Fuchs puts his now much-loved badass characters through battles, missions and highly improbable rescues at a quite indecent pace. The action almost never lets up and when you want a narrator to deliver a sense of urgency and high octane action RC Bray is THE first name on the list. Bray and Fuchs seem perfectly matched and must be one the best Audiobook combinations around. It's like they were ordained by a higher power to come together!
So, what are you waiting for? Spend the credit, text your boss to say you will be off for a day or two, sit back and let your headphones spray bullets, blood and gore between your ears!
Unless of course you are new to the Arisen series. In that case, stop, find the Omnibus edition of the first three books,. text your boss to say that you resign and let your headphones do the rest.
I know this type of fiction isn't everyone's cup of tea but for those of us that like it this series is an absolute doozy!

Bloody Fantastic!
Praise the Lord! I have been waiting for several months for this audiobook episode to be finally released! When I saw it saw it available for download in my audible account it was like Xmas :) Initially not the easiest series to get into....but then absolutely addictive....I guess anyone who has got this far knows that already. The highest complementary I can give to the author is when you are listening and think 'get a grip! it's just a story'. Well done Michael Stephen Fuchs!!!!

Finish This
Is there anything you would change about this book?
It would be the last in the series, other than that it's all good and still very enjoyable
What did you like best about this story?
I really enjoy the relationship between Pred & Juice they're always pulling each other along and have some funny banter, and the return of Homer was welcome
What does R. C. Bray bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
What can you say about RC Bray other than he's one of the best narrators out there and especially for a book like this, it's not narration it's a performance
If this book were a film would you go see it?
TV Series is the only way this would get on to a screen I think the movie going public would not have the patience for 13 films and counting, saying that I think it would be a brilliant TV series if done properly and something I would definitely watch
Any additional comments?
Book 13 and for the first time I feel as if I'm being milked I really think this should have been finished in this book, definitely feels as if it's being spun out longer than necessary, what you might call a "Commercial Decision"

Spread too thin
Any additional comments?
The continuation of the plot is good in this book, the story is really starting to come to an end. But I cant help but feel the plot is spread too thinly, there are so many different sub plots coming together and constant flickering between characters that it just feels watered down. There wasn't much from Alpha in this book either, it was almost more focused on other background characters.
There wasn't any stand out moments for me, no noteworthy feats from the Alpha guys either. I think this book would have benefitted greatly from a strong action scene involving alpha and a more concise focus on certain characters.

Awesome
I’m in love with this series, I have managed to travel a part of the world while following the characters in this book. Ok the world looks a little different and is a lot more dangerous. It is very well described the world and the situations. Well written and of course anyone who has ever heard R.C Bray knows he always brings the book to life! I have to say most of the books I enjoy the most are Narrated by the master! Looking forward to the next one.

to many improbable disasters
Another cracking listen, loved all the action and most of the characters, if I have one big moan it's the predictable disasters. At times I wonder how they've managed to stay alive for 2 years as everything and I mean everything goes wrong with regular abandonment , no matter how improbable. looking forward to listening to the last book now and of course all the disasters too

I like these books, but.................
I love these books, and have enjoyed the series so far. Action is fast paced without a doubt. Yes, stuff happens thats quite mad at times buy hey, its a story ! My biggest 'niggle' is the author keeps using the term lance corporal amongst UK forces - in the UK (maybe elsewhere) you simple call yourself, or are called, a corporal. Its rare for the distinction to be made when speaking the rank out loud. Also, at times the spec forces banter over pop culture gets a bit tiresome and breaks the 'immersion'. Most spec forces ive known spent far too long running when a civvy and then running when a soldier to ever watch the sort of telly us mortals enjoy :-) Though to be fair, they do seem to find the time to watch Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jacket and Platoon - are they required viewing in Delta Force ? But as said, silly 'niggles' and these books are a lot of fun.

Gripping
This is a genuinely exciting audio production. Yes, this series is flawed: The worship of the almighty US Alpha and marines is wearing to English ears, and the total disregard for innocent civilians, whilst focusing only on the military brotherhood is quite disturbing at times. However, we care about Park and his vaccine and the engagements with zombies are gripping. Some of the best sections are the vignettes involving minor characters and I would have liked these to have been expanded. The British characters are more sympathetic overall than the Americans, (although I suspect we are not meant to feel this way!) I will miss this series when it's finished. It's a well-crafted world, which allows for total immersion.

Just embarrassing really
I actually gave up listening as the plot got more and more laughable and tiresome. Very disappointed after the previous books. Sad that the climax has failed at every page, with all the fine characters half heartedly levered into this desperate weak and unengaging mess of a plot. Don't listen to this tripe and imagine the previous book was the last, and invent your own denouement.
