It's a good idea and performed very well but there's just a bit too much preaching for me. Feminist, vegan, animal loving wokeness that doesn't integrate well with the storyline. It just feels unnecessary and forced. On balance, it will stop me from listening to any more from this author.

I captured this for the length, to send me to sleep... it worked pleasantly but in waking I immediately went back to the beginning to listen properly. Great story and performance. Original, and immediate connection with characters. Will look to more from this writer.

An intriguing story that kept up my interest over the trilogy. This was my first time with this author and I shall be checking out more of her books.

If you enjoyed Blyton's Faraway Tree or the Wishing Chair as a child you'll love this!! An adult version, gets your imagination seeing other worlds in full technicolour! The narrator is excellent, the central characters totally alive. Can't wait for the next book set!
