Not many first-time novelists get a profile in the New York Times. Then again, few first-time novelists come with the backstory of an Anna Williams-Bonner: recent bride of a wildly successful novelist who took his own life even as his fame seemed on the ascent.

As her own book climbs the bestseller list, it seems not all the attention is focused on Anna's literary merit. Threats begin arriving, hinting at a dark secret in Anna's past. With her reputation - and potentially her life - on the line, is there anything Anna won't do to protect herself?©2024 Jean Hanff Korelitz (P)2024 Macmillan Audio 2024\u2019ün en iyileri Editörün Seçimi Genre Fiction Literary Fiction Psychological Suspense Thriller & Suspense

I loved the narration. Very good on different voices. The story was incredibly creative and intriguing.

So many twists and turns, my head is spinning!

At first I raced through this finding it much more exciting than the first book in the series but ultimately found myself irritated by the increasingly predictable plot and the lack of any kind of twist. Also so derivative of Patricia Highsmith. Understand that the author wanted to put a feminist slant on the familiar tale of sociopaths getting away with awful crimes but ultimately felt deeply unsatisfied by the lack of any retribution

Erudite but derivative story marked by very irritating ending

Really good sequel to the plot. It can be read separately but is more satisfying having read the plot.

Excellent

I listened to this purely because I think the narrator is one of the best. The story was not good though. Quite predictable and under developed main character. Still listened to it all though. Sometimes its worth listening to some bad ones so the great ones seem even better.

The narater is amazing
