Very helpful book.

Pulled a lot of good things out of the first listen, and marked up a lot for future study. There is so much relevant and helpful information in this book. While it may appeal to athletes seeking more mental focus, it also has the power to assist in the reflection of good living. I recommend this to all adults seeking life enrichment.

Educational book.

As a Compassion Fatigue Educator, I use a lot of these tools already but still found so many things to highlight and draw hearts around! Would be a great gift for someone you love who hasn't yet fallen in love with their own fabulous self, or for someone who walks the talk already and would love listening to a book that shares their spirited outlook on life.

Great book.

Beverly's concepts of mirrors of our parents reflecting back our inner critic and level of esteem is excellent. I have taught groups of teenage girls for over 3 years how to raise esteem and change critical thoughts. Beverly's exercises and quizzes allow healing and awareness to occur at deeper levels. I now use Beverly's book in my group and recommend it to the students and their parents.

I love this book!

I love this book! I bought it to use with my therapy clients, but I find that it also helps in my own life. There are parts of this book that I even use with all my clients, not just those struggling with self-esteem issues. It’s easy to listen, and it makes sense. The author explains to the audience of those looking for self-help, as well as to therapists looking for new tools to use with clients. Many of my clients have bought this book for their own libraries even after we have gone through it because it resonated with them so much. A+

It personally has helped me

This book may deter some people because of the title and think they don't have a problem with their self-esteem. But don't be deceived this book is fantastic and can help with all kinds of things like anxiety, stress, inner critic, difficult feelings, understanding yourself and why you do the things you do and behave certain ways, etc. It personally has helped me with anxiety and my inner critic but really everyone can learn something from this book and will help you learn about yourself.

Awesome book.

My therapist recommended this to me, she uses it for reference in a lot of our sessions. helped me understand the source of my problems, as well as find ways to combat it. after this book, I am no longer a slave to my mind's beatings. I am free. matthew McKay is a saint. I got a better job, I'm eating healthier, I'm going to the gym, I'm making friends, and not to mention its easier to talk to the ladies hueheheuhe, get my drift.
