This audio book is outstanding, full of atmosphere, the author draws you into the book. One of the best books I've read, it will pull at your heartstrings. So interesting to learn more of the history of wartime Cornwall. This has to be the best book so far the author has written.

Thoroughly enjoyed learning about the Helford River
Activity during the war, the highly skilled map maker Merry with her intimate knowledge of northern France’s coastline, beaches and sea behaviour.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. I really liked the characters and it kept me guessing how it would end. I was surprised at the ending. My best book this year. Several months on and I still think about it. I’ll be listening to it again soon.

From chapter one the storyline catches the readers attention, setting the background for an intriguing story.
