About this listen

Nobody loves Mary - the heroine of the famous story of Francis Burnett "The Secret Garden." However, she does not burn with love for others, and moreover - she can not stand the whole world. And then her parents are passing away prematurely. There is an impression that nothing good can happen to her in this life. But there is a miracle: the fate itself extends the heroine of the book to the saving hand and leads to the path leading to the beautiful Secret Garden...

Frances Eliza Hodgson Burnett’s writing in early 1900s about orphans, neglected, lonely children she knew about the transformative power of cathexis; what the emotional attachment to a garden, caring and attending it can work magic. The garden can stand in place of any activity where one is involved emotionally and imaginatively. Here is done beautifully, around a garden, neglected and secluded, like the two orphans. We are witnessing the process of metamorphosis of the garden itself, located in an estate in Yorkshire, and in the cousins involved.
Very pleasant reading, elevating for any age.

The magic and healing power of cathexis, and of a good book!
