Ann M. Martin’s acclaimed Main Street series continues as Flora, Ruby, Olivia, and Nikki kick off the summer in Camden Falls. It seems a mysterious gift giver has been leaving books on the girls’ doorsteps. Jumping at the chance to liven up an otherwise slow summer, the gang decides to start a reading group. However, it soon becomes clear that their secret benefactor is up to something, as the girls discover personal messages contained between the covers of their puzzling presents. Actress Ariadne Meyers (Kate & Allie, How to Make an American Quilt) delivers a glowing performance, capturing the deep emotional bond between Flora and her friends. Meyers flexes her vocal versatility, breathing personality and warmth into each of Camden Falls’ colorful characters.

Flora, Ruby, Olivia, and Nikki don't understand it. Someone - they don't know who - is leaving books on their doorstep. Each comes with a mysterious message asking them to read the book and do something new. Before they know it, the four friends have a secret, girls-only book club...and are finding out new things about themselves and one another.

Who's sending these packages? And what will the next book be? The girls can't wait to find out...

I love listening to audio books and have really enjoyed the Main Street Series. This one is my least favorite of the previous. I still love the characters but this installment moved a bit slow. I love the way the author makes all the characters not just the main girls have a back story and include the adults in real life situations. I'm very anxious for Books 6-10 to become audio available. I work full-time and have a family and audio books are the only way for me to enjoy a good book. P.S. Book 3, Tis the Season is the best of Main street so far.
