Summary

For a limited time only -- get all three books in The Scotch Series in one boxset

The Scotch King

Joseph Ingram made the mistake of stealing from me - four million dollars. He took my intelligence without paying for it. And thought he could get away with it. Think again. Now I’ll take something from him - something irreplaceable. His sister. Collateral. But even when Joseph doubles the amount of money he owes me, I don’t give her up. Nope. I have an image to maintain. So I keep her. And I’m not giving her up.

The Scotch Queen

I wasn't sure what changed my mind about giving London to Bones, but something did. Now London is officially mine. She's sassy, feisty, and she still tells me off when I have her under my thumb. I love it. Now I have a deal with the Barsetti brothers, Josephine is still pining for me, and revenge is heavy on my mind. I'm not sure what to do with London now that I'm not gonna kill her. But I'm certainly not going to fall in love with her.

The Scotch Royals

London is a lot more useful than I anticipated. She gets me what I need like a pro. With her by my side, I feel like I can do anything. My need for revenge is dimmed. My anger is contained. But her brother is still a problem. She wants me to let him go. I'm not sure if I can.

Fantastic

Book 1

I loved this book. The storyline is brutal and honest. There’s an edge to it that I was looking for. Excellent performance from both narrators.

Book 2

This second book does not disappoint. With the strong characters and storyline it’s a winning combination.

Book 3

This second book does not disappoint. With the strong characters and storyline it’s a winning combination.

Light and Enjoyable!

Although this is sold as a dark romance, I found it rather light! Ok, so he was a bad man initially as he kidnapped and imprisoned her for six  months and there is of course the possibility of the Stockholm syndrome, but we are talking fairytale here and as London's brother was mixed up in this sordid life, it shouldn't have come as any surprise.

Having said the above, Crew treated London very well and it was lovely to see their relationship develop. Having said this, take out the daily sex scenes and the books could have been cut down to two books! I Ioved their chemistry and Crew, once you get to know him is actually a real softy! I only wish that London had spoken  to him earlier about her thoughts and alleviated the unnecessary angst, but that's the story!

As for his business partner, I don’t understand why she had to be so malignant and I thought she got off far too leniently. It would have been good to know her back story and I felt that there could have been another more interesting story there. Perhaps for another day.

It would have been fun if London  could have become more involved with the Skotch business thereby giving a reason to get rid of the gnome!

Narration wise, please tell Samantha Cook to pronounce Edinburgh correctly as in ....burra and not ....burg! Also for some reason Michael couldn't get a handle on Joseph. He is American and not either Irish or Scottish!!! This drove me insane as his voice kept changing and funnily enough was never narrated as an American!

Another thing that irked me was the fact that a duchess is addressed as "Your Grace" and not "Lady" and for some reason he was never referred to by his correct title.

Overall, I really liked it and loved the epilogue.  I didn't want the story to end and I would love to hear more about Joseph.

Negative reviewers shouldn’t have this genre not because it was a bad book

I hesitated purchasing this audiobook due to some lingering negative reviews about how “graphic” and the “triggering content”. I don’t consider myself insensitive to different darker genres of romance, but I was expecting something much darker than the series actually turned out to be. And clearly the people who wrote about “pornographic” or “triggering content” havent read much in the genre and shouldn’t have read the book. They should have heeded the warning and genre instead of reading and posting negatively.

I agree the performance was distracting between London and Crew narrators. I preferred the male narrator and wish he would have done the whole book. She made all of the men sound juvenile.

Great story, listened to all 3 in a few days. Won’t be the last series I read from this author.

Rough start

The books were really a rough going in the beginning. Not much story beyond the sex. Final book was a good conclusion. Very much a slow burn book with sex and more sex.

Dark romance. 1POV. HEA. Complete trilogy.

⚠️Trigger warning for abuse and dubious consent.

This is a dark “sexy” romance with a Scottish duke kidnapping the sister of a man who crossed him. It’s a bit of an emotional listen.

That narration is pretty good, however I’m confused as to why Joseph has an American accent with the female but a Scottish one with the male.

The HEA is fulfilling and it’s nice that all three books are together.

Lead female thinks like a teenager

No time for Stockholm syndrome. This girl fell right away and started justifying why he beat her. She’s supposed to be an adult in med school but she’s reasoning like a teenager. Grown women never forget a snake is a snake.

Great story. Poor writing and pornogrsphic

I love the storyline. There hasn’t been another story like it that I know of. The problem is the writing is poor. The author repeated things over and over and there were discrepancies in the story. The worst part was the pornography and even worse, the frequency of it. It got to the point where I skipped through them. I’m no prude in any way shape or form but the sex scenes were SO graphic. It just wasn’t necessary for the series to be as great as it could have been.

My last comment is about the narration. When the male narrator was voicing the brother Joseph, he had an Irish accent but when the female narrated he was American. Things like that shouldn’t happen to a well produced audio book.

Loved it

This series was great! Not perfect like every truly amazing story. I admired London's will. Both she and Crew were strong characters.

An okay read that eventually got repetative

I think I liked the second book a little bit more than the first. And by the time I got to the final book, I was ready for the series to be done. There was a lot of back and forth and repetition of things that had already happened in previous books. But I'm glad Crewe and London got their HEA, and hope that Joseph has his own story someday.
Narration by Michael Ferraiuolo was amazing, I really enjoyed his voice, especially the accents that he brought. Samantha Cook was also good, but it was weird when her characters didn't have the same accents that were done by Michael.
