Perfect. But beware of sequels.
This was all I dreamed it would be and more. Nuanced, exciting and modern take on fairy tales, good and evil, self discovery.. Beautiful, inspiring and I welled up at several parts with how much I connected to both characters and the story.
But I have to warn (without spoilers) that I really cannot recommend the sequels. There are some good parts in them but overall they slowly undermine most of the wonderful subversive aspects that I loved so much in this book and replace them with watered down versions and the very tropes and stereotypes I thought we were getting away from. I wrote reviews on the other two book pages if you want more info but this is as vague as I'll be on the first book page.
What the beautiful relationship (my OTP if you will) of Sophie and Agatha turns into especially leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth.
So if you want to be left with satisfaction and good (not Good lol) vibes then finish your journey with this perfectly wrapped-up book.
I'm so let down but this first book still means a lot to me, even if something went really wrong in the other two.

It was a simple delight from start to finish, which took me about two days as I couldn't stop listening.
the main characters feel real and compelling and use the kind if logic only 12 year old can. and the twists were nice and foreshadowed. lovely work, going to grab the next book as soon as possible.

Amazing Best Book I've Ever Read!
This was such a fabulous book. It had so many cliffhangers I was addicted and couldn't stop listening. It had so many emotions all into one, I felt the pain when the character was grieving, I felt the jubilation, when the character was happy. I felt as if I could relate to the characters as if I knew them. It had a lovely message of stay true to yourself and keep your friends close to your heart and not to let them slip away, even in harsh circumstances to find time for your friends. I laughed I cried what more can I say!
