About this listen

Former Marine and lonely single dad Will Hawthorne just wants to clear his head with a weekend in the woods with his live-action-role-playing group.

But a careless misstep sends him tumbling through a cave into an alien world. There he finds a dying civilization of bizarre human-animal hybrids, filled with effete males and frustrated females who are soon pursuing him for their own ends.

For Will has stumbled into this world's most powerful legend - a legend of the one who will come to reverse its decline - the legend of the Makalang.

This is a story that I easily enjoyed. It was easy to follow and keep up with. The characters were built in a way that you can make a connection with. This story a fun listen.
The narrator does a good job bring the characters to life. He builds the story and doesn't get boring in the telling.
The only bad things I have to say is when are you bringing the next book out and make it longer it was too short.

Pretty interesting travel to another realm story, MC has pretty good common sense and is likeable. All in all a great start to a series

It's nice that there aren't really any laughable descriptions of the female body, and the sex scenes are fine, if a little lacklustre.
It was fine to listen to, but my biggest gripe listening to this book was the names and how hard it is to remember some very creative ones for places, characters and words. If there had been short nicknames it'd been easier to follow.
I would have loved to know about the MC's internal struggle, but it's a big wish for a harem book.

Typical male self insert, but ok.
