Another great adventure

Even though the thought of time bubbles is confusing and I still have no idea about what brains plan is I am really enjoying this series. This one has a different feel about it than the last but in a good way, the Russians give it a heavy feel but the quips and action still keep coming thick and fast.

Andrew Wehrlen does a great job of creating distinct and varied voices without any of them sounding silly.

Overall I really enjoyed this audiobook and I am really looking forward to the next one

Terrible cover font, much better book

This book is a strong one in it's own right, but I think most people will appreciate it more if they listen or read the first one in the series before it as having that foundation nicely enhances your overall impression of this one. This book again has that same action movie feel to it and for the most part it works, but I do feel that some of the characters may suffer a little because of it.

The narrator put in another strong performance on one of this author's books and I can understand why they continue to work together on them as they seem to be a good fit.

Overall, a good book, but definitely stronger as a book two if you consider the series as a whole.

Very exciting with a great story!

I loved the first book and this takes up where it left off. It's excellent. I won't repeat the story summary as you can read that yourself. I will however say that we wonderful characters which are likeable and have a brilliant depth to them. The story itself roars along with an amazing pace that makes you want to finish it in one sitting! The action hits the right pace and the story never stops being engaging and brilliant from the start to the end.

I also like the narration in terms of matching the feel of the characters and the story to what I think it should sound and be like. Very good

Very well done!

Is that a bubble?

A story by Jake Bible is always going to be fast moving, exciting and immaginative. But with The Savage Side, he has really exceeded expectations. And with the excellent Andrew Wehrlen's narrating, well, it becomes exceptional.
No synopsis other than to say that technology is rapidly failing in the flipside enclave, the Wingers and Teeth still roam outside, and where are the Russians? What is really needed is Brain to get them all home.

Mr.Bible's writing, like his action, is brisk, quickly descriptive, his characters well drawn despite the paucity of words. Conversations are sometimes terse, sometimes joking, all befitting people tied together in an uncompromisingly bad situation. Whatever their feelings, they are stuck with each other. The narrator captures the edgy discomfort beautifully, each protagonist differently voiced. Mr.Wehrlen has an unique style of narration which is perfect for this audiobook: a gun rattle fast reading sweetly intoned, balanced and with a pleasant burr to his voice. It all fits perfectly with this time disrupting story.

My deep thanks to the rights holder of The Savage Side, who, at my request via Audiobook Boom, freely gifted me a complimentary copy. This is the second book in the Flipside Saga and, although it is better read after experiencing the first, could still be read as a stand-alone Once the introductory pages are over, this book becomes absorbingly un-put-downable. Try it.

One more !

Excellent Action adventure fiction is Jake Bible for sure, and too many people see dinosaurs so they think Jurassic Park but they would be very off line.
But this series needs at least one more book, there are way too many unanswered questions left ( he writes one and I personally will return to add a star to the story ) .
As usually coupled with Andrew B. Wehrlen narrating beautifully brings those books to life.

Full of Pros.
No Cons beside that I believe that a continuation is needed, that cool twist at the endings opened up a whole new can of worms of unanswered questions but was worth it.

So yes I do absolutely recommend this and all Jakes audiobooks which I already reviewed 3 and got one more starting tomorrow, yes absolutely recommended !!!

2nd book of this series got for free in exchange for an honest review.

Thrilling return to flipside

Another return to flipside where the elements, humans and Dinosaurs and it seems fate all have it in for the survivors of time bubbles.
As time passes the tensions and loss of equipment and personnel give this a great thrill. In this story especially the human fight comes into play more although it can be a bit more confusing than the events of Book 1. I'm still sticking with this as it's still a good thriller and the usual go to narrator for Jake Bible, ABW does his consistent high levels of narration as expected.
More a good story and something different but still very enjoyable , the time events probably make this a bit easier to follow in ebook format but the narration make a up for it so I will say 4.5 stars.
I requested this audio and have left my thoughts on this for you to peruse.

Action Packed!!

Having loved book 1, I couldn't wait to dive into this to see what would happen, and wow, Jake Bible really puts them all through the wringer!!

What I love about the books is that the plot is so far fetched, that it's believable. Lol. This one sees the people stuck in Flipside trying their hardest to survive and find a way back to their time, but this is a Jake Bible book and he doesn't let them off easily!! They have Russians to deal with, Dinosaurs, even more dinosaurs, and things they didn't expect. The plot never lets up and I devoured it!!

Once again, the characters are all well developed. My favourite has to be the Dinosaur though. Cash has his hands full, as does everyone on the base. I try not to become too attached to any of Bible's characters though as you never know who is going to live!!

In all, a wonderfully written and unique world that I adore! I really can't wait to see where he goes from here.

Andrew B. Wehrlen reads everything so clearly and is so easy to listen to that he has become one of my favourites. He always has plenty of tones and voices and makes each character stand out.

Interesting Spin on Time Travel

Lots of dinosaurs and jumping back and forth in time. It doesn't feel plausible and I felt lost in all the characters jumping around in time and space. It felt a bit to ambitious and chaotic.
The book is narrated well by Andrew B. Wehrlen.

More Dino fun!

This second installment of the Flipside Sagas is just as full of heart-pounding action and excitement. The first one was great, and this one delivers more of the same. I love Bible's stories and characters...and Andrew Wehrlen does a super job voicing this one. Cheers.

The Flipside has flipped out!

The flipside saga continues. Our intrepid, demoted hero Cash and crew are forced to deal with an unstable flipside. The once regular and timely flipside has gone haywire. The “turns” are now sporadic, catching explorers and scientists alike in a deadly game of musical chairs. The variety, size, and temperament of dinosaurs are out of control as well. If the over-sized dinos weren’t bad enough, Cash has Russians to deal with as well. The Flipside has indeed turned into the Savageside. Boy, they have it rough..what’s next?

This is the third book I’ve read/listened to by this author and I will jump at the chance to read more in this series.
I love the concept and the story’s follow-through is great. It’s so original. This book has a degree of conclusion to this portion of the story, but leads us into the next book with a whole new tangent. These are not really stand alone books and personally, I’d never want to read only one!! I definitely recommend reading/listening to them in order.

Cash and the other people (mix of civilians and international military) have been stuck Savageside since the turns stopped. Problem is now, the bubbles are returning and are becoming more unstable. The threat from the Russians is becoming more real and there are new more powerful dinosaurs to contend with.

This is the sixth book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Andrew Wehrlen ) and I love how he brings the characters to life. He has a good repertoire of voices and accents and bring out the characters personalities well. He has become one of my top favorite narrators.

There are no explicit sex scenes, or excessive violence. There is some swearing but not much.

Great book 2!

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

So, I really enjoyed book 1, so when this opportunity came up, I was quick to agree. I'm happy to report that this was just as fun and entertaining at the first book. Andrew Wehrlen's narration is just as awesome and Jake Bible didn't dissapoint with the action and snark either! If you liked book 1, you definitely have to get this one too, you'll never forgive yourself if you don't.

A Good Read

I haven't read the first book in the series, so it took me quite a while to figure out the settings and situations. The narration was very good, though. I could keep better track of the different characters just by the subtle voice inflection changes.
I did request a copy of this book in order to review it. If you like dinosaurs, time travel and non-linear thinking give this book a try.

I think Roak spoiled me

I have been a follower of Bible sense his days on podiobooks and I really wish I had came into this series from the beginning were alot of books you dont have to this one you really need to. The characters are well written as usual but dont get attached to any of them. I was given this copy for free in return for an honest review and here it is. The premise is good the story picks up toward the end and leaves you not wanting to put it down it can get a little confusing in some parts but that might have just been me all in all I would advise you give it a try try on the bases that Jack is an awesome writer and tells amazing stories.

Brilliant a good listen/read

The Savageside: The Flipside Sagas, Book 2. Brilliant sequel, better and different to book 1 if that was possible. Fast paced on many fronts, intriquing , and entertaining.
Narration is 1st class and makes you feel as if your in the action.

Dinosaurs time bubbles and Russians what could go wrong

The flip side book 2 continues the struggle to get back to real-time from the collapsed time bubbles on flip side. The Russians have a secret weapon. The flip side is becoming unstable. The future the past and the present are beginning to mix more than ever and there will be a paradox to end all paradoxes. Giant dinosaurs, evil Russians, friendly raptors and multiple selves will make this a story to remember and a mind bender to untwist and figure out. The twists come fast and furious the action is great and the delivery through writing and narration make for a dynamic duo of epic proportions.
