Compulsive listening for me, good story, well read and kept me captivated. Find audio books so much better these days due to time constraints preventing me from picking up a book.

Gripping stuff

The narration is atrocious. The narrator’s accents are unbelievable and farcical. The books are fine but until the author starts to write in the 3rd person or finds a competent narrator this series will always lack credibility

The stories are almost believable

I've now done books 1-5. Very much enjoy the story although I'll make the same note as many others that way too much time is spent on backstory. Many similar series and they don't retell everything about the main character every time.

However main gripe is the accents. Especially the American ones. They are so bad that I'm instantly out of it and annoyed. Struggled through it in the 4th, was ecstatic when 5 was back with all Brits, and then heart sank when he said, going back to the American character where he had unfinished business, and knew I couldn't listen to 8 hours of a guy holding his nose and trying to sound like fran drescher.
