Summary

My life is in ruins. Failed marriage, failed career - I'm a failure.

My husband may have had a hand in it, but I can't help missing him.

We made an agreement. I signed the contract, and so did he. Without our arrangement, everything falls apart.

So we'll keep losing ourselves in each other's bodies.

We'll keep pretending everything is fine.

But maybe I'm getting sick of pretend.

Maybe I want to find something real.

And just maybe, Luka does too.

Book three of three.

Wow 🤩

This was such a great series!! I loved and devoured each one right after each other. It was a crazy ride to watch and at times you get blind sided but so worth it! Definitely worth the credit or coin!
Narrative was outstanding as well!!
(Side note: I do think it would have been beneficial to listen to the series prior to this one first, but it’s not a necessity to still get all of the awesomeness out of this series! )

Brilliant narration

Really enjoyed this series, made all the better by two great narrators that brought the characters to life. Just loved the interaction between Luka and Brooklyn.

Uneven

I found this series uneven compared to the first series in this world. Brooklyn and Luca, I felt their characters were a good fit, however Luca would sneeze funny and all of a sudden Brooklyn has talked herself into that meaning he's having an affair. It was very much, they get together, she pulls them apart, over and over. This was frustrating on the listener.
I did very enjoy the narration by Sebastian York and Elena Wolfe very much.

FIVE STAR FIREWORKS, FRICTION & FEELS

This arranged marriage really was a rollercoaster as hurt feelings, blurred lines, misunderstandings, secrets, misdirection, the lack of communication and outside forces all play a part in a marriage which was only meant to be fake. However, when chemistry, lust, compatibility, emotions, compassion and sexcapades obliterate the carefully constructed walls and battle lines, it causes a lot of rubble to plough through before the light of the HEA can finally be seen. And I must admit that, by the end of book two, I wanted to send both of them to the naughty step for timeout from all the bad behaviour, angst and drama.. and angst.. and angst. However, it was a great ride, if a wee bit predictable at times, but still really enjoyable nonetheless. And the dual POV storyline was brought to life perfectly by Elena and Sebastian.. two trusted well loved A list narrators who give awesome performances with feels and flavor every.. single.. time.

Worth a credit? I waited til all three books in the trilogy were out because I knew going in that this was going to be an addictive rollercoaster rocky romance - which it definitely was.. and yes, the other two books are (IMO) creditworthy.

Not for me

I tried sooo hard to like this series. It’s because I attempt to give them a chance that I almost always listen to an entire series before reviewing, in the hope that it’ll improve. The narration on this was great!! Sadly, I could not enjoy Brooklyn’s character. Not only as a woman but just a person in general. Grow a backbone! Stick to your decisions when you make them. There was just so much wrong with her mentality and thought process, I could go on and on but why... sadly disappointed.

Arranged marriage of convenience

Three years ago when Luka first set eyes on Brooklyn he promised her an exclusive modeling contract just to get her into bed. Now with the marriage contract he’s done the exact same thing all over again. Brooklyn has worked hard to make the marriage work, to make them work, but Luka continues to lie. Brooklyn campaign’s herself in LA to look sexy with the help of Mateo. With her modeling career on the line she’s no longer interested in rebranding Luka’s image. With a failed marriage upon the horizon Brooklyn sets off to protect her image and rebuild her modeling career without the help of Luka.

Sebastian York and Elena Wolfe are back as the dynamic duo performing Brooklyn and Luka in this final book. I skipped book 2 delving straight into book 3. I’m actually only interested in listening to the both of them perform. I listened at 2X the speed using the audible app. These two narrators can bring any story to life. This was an easy listen. It was an unabridged audiobook which was convenient since I own the trilogy and had the opportunity to follow along.

Brooklyn and Luka had the type of push n’ pull relationship with jealousy, lies, mistrust, and miscommunication. This trilogy was based on the concept of rebranding the business image. While arranged marriages isn’t an original concept, Stella Gray made it her own by incorporating the modeling business and the effects of the scandalous activity of their fathers life had on their image. I thought it was an okay story. I’m not your average reader who gets invested in arranged marriage tropes. Stella wrote a convincing and compelling story. I appreciated the informative modeling wealthy lifestyle of the Zoric’s, but I must admit I wasn’t invested in it.
