not for me

There was way too much hard to listen to unnecessary language ....REALLY could do without that.......the story could have been a lot cuter-I thought it would be...by the title and the description. Actually I couldn't finish it ....and for the first time ever I am thinking of looking into the - if you don't like it return it policy.

Ummm….

So much of this story felt weird to me. The logistics of Cash and Jade coming to live together didn’t make any sense. Just one example…why would you BFF and her boyfriend allow you and your 2 year old to live with them and then make you pee in the kitchen during the night because the only bathroom is off of their room? If I’m close enough with someone to live with them, and rent-free at that, they’re not going to expect me to pee casually around the house…my gosh! Imma sneak in their bathroom quietly to pee and they’re gonna let me! I had so many questions. Further, I just generally didn’t care for any of the characters except the two year old and maybe Cash to some extent. I didn’t feel connected to the characters and I certainly didn’t sense a spark between the H and the h. There was no chemistry, no sexual tension, no build-up of any kind. Something was just OFF. It did improve imo closer to the end. Just didn’t check all my boxes. Decent narration.

not at all what I thought would be. I didn't care for the story or the main characters.

Let’s just agree to disagree and amend the rules along the way

The Roommate Dis’Agreement is about trust. With elements of honesty, protection, fear, companionship, and confusion.
Cash needed a roommate, someone to socialize with on the weekends. Jade needed a private bedroom and bathroom where she could keep her and her daughter safe. His rules were simple...looking for roommate, looking for friendship, looking for companionship, and looking for a platonic relationship. What he got instead was a dis’agreement of broken rules.

If I ever need solid advice Leddy is just the person to talk to. She balances out the arguments with good advice from all perspectives. She carefully considers all equations to every scenario. She outlines every possible angle providing valid arguments from all sides. Every situation is examined and cross analyzed to determine the perfect fit.

Athena Pappas narrates Jade’s character. Athena’s voice is the perfect fit for Jade’s character. Her tone and acting skills portraying Jade brought her character to life.
Aaron Sinn narrates Cash’s character. His voice was well suited for this male character. Aaron didn’t just read the words he brought the words to life.

The chapters alternated between Jade and Cash. Each narrator voiced their assigned chapters regardless if Cash was in Jade’s chapter. Normally I prefer alternating narrations in the chapters as well, but this worked just fine. These narrators get inside the words giving subtle layers of storytelling.

The most critical element for an audiobook is the casting. The choice of the right narrator is essential. The skilled narrator can fulfill the intent of the written work and give subtle layers of brilliant storytelling. However, the narrator is not just a voice. The narrator has to get inside the words, and thus into the head of the author. These two narrators accomplished everything I look for when choosing an audiobook.
✔️great voice
✔️good tone
✔️good vocal style
✔️good sound quality

3.5 stars

I was pleasantly surprised with how much depth there was to this story. Usually with this type of book, I expect a romcom with nothing but happiness and sunshine. But there were some darker themes in this one, and I appreciated it even though I wasn't expecting it. I like the characters, but not sure if I believed the male narrator as the Hero. He did a great job, just didn't have as strong of a voice as I would expect someone like the H to have. A good book, and I'd be happy to read more by this author.

Fantastic!!!!

This book has such a fantastic storyline that I could easily say it's one of the best books that I've listened to. The character development and storyline evolution just grabs you from the beginning and holds on to the end. I definitely look forward to reading more from this author. I have the audible package, but am purchasing this book just to have in my collection, It is that good.

a different story

I enjoyed the book and was easily able to finish it. The narration was good. i found the story a little over the top and unrealistic. Cash is an lonely older guy looking for a female roommate and Jade is a single mom who is very much need of place for her and her daughter to live. although it is bit over the top it was very predictable.

Cute story, good narration

The narration was really good. I think the book would benefit from some editing. Some of the word choices were strange and awkward. Additionally, there were incorrect references made that are general knowledge, such as Moses was not on the Ark.

That being said, the story was cute. The main characters meet under odd circumstances. Cash writes an add for a roommate. Jade originally responds as a joke. They get to know each other through weeks of conversation. Jade and her daughter Aria eventually move in with Cash. The relationship grows into more than friendship. There are a few surprising events that cause hitches in the relationship, but it ends in a HEA.
