Summary

How far would you go to save those you love?

Lowrie and Shen are the youngest people on the planet after a virus caused global infertility. Closeted in a pocket of London and doted upon by a small, ageing community, the pair spend their days mudlarking and looking for treasure - until a secret is uncovered that threatens not only their family but humanity’s entire existence.

Now Lowrie and Shen face an impossible choice: in the quiet at the end of the world, they must decide what to sacrifice to save the whole human race....

Not for me

Struggled to finish. Feels like most of the story is reading out social media posts. Painful.

Wonderful book, wonderful narrator

The post-apocalyptic plot may not sound like a feel-good story but that’s exactly what this is. An absolutely wonderful book and really well-read.

❤️❤️❤️

I started to read this a while back and got bored so put it down, only to find when I picked it back up again that I was only two pages from the big twist - irony, eh?

Once I picked it back up I got really into it and had finished it by the next day. I highly recommend persevering and keeping up with the book, because once it starts up properly you can't put it down.

I loved how all of the little drops littered into the first half came together into an ocean of twists and turns. The feeling of OH MY GOD THAT'S WHY THAT OHHHHH sweeps over you and you completely fall in love.

Alright

Great performance wanted more from the story. But that’s just my opinion, always best to give something a go to find yours.

A very woke, pc, boringly current kids book.

If you're falling for all this woke, pc nonsense..... you'll enjoy it. Aimed at girls.

Unique and thoughtful book

Fresh take on dystopian teen fiction - faultless. 10/10 would recommend, extremely accurate predicting reactions considering this was written before the pandemic.

Terrifying beauty

Really makes you rethink reality and our attachments to a materialist world. A psychological epiphany of existential possibilities

I enjoyed it.

I think the format of the book is better suited for reading than an audio book. But i still enjoyed it very much. I couldn’t stop once past half way. Very captivating. Good twists. Stimulating story.
