Summary

How far would you go to save those you love?

Lowrie and Shen are the youngest people on the planet after a virus caused global infertility. Closeted in a pocket of London and doted upon by a small, ageing community, the pair spend their days mudlarking and looking for treasure - until a secret is uncovered that threatens not only their family but humanity’s entire existence.

Now Lowrie and Shen face an impossible choice: in the quiet at the end of the world, they must decide what to sacrifice to save the whole human race....

I enjoyed it.

I think the format of the book is better suited for reading than an audio book. But i still enjoyed it very much. I couldn’t stop once past half way. Very captivating. Good twists. Stimulating story.

Unique and thoughtful book

Fresh take on dystopian teen fiction - faultless. 10/10 would recommend, extremely accurate predicting reactions considering this was written before the pandemic.

Alright

Great performance wanted more from the story. But that’s just my opinion, always best to give something a go to find yours.

Keeps you interested!

The narrator ruined it a little for me with her off accents and voices but the story itself is captivating and keeps you coming back for more. I imagine it would be a better read than listen with various social media things read along and the chapter intros get tedious but would recommend for the plot.

Thought provoking and entertaining in equal measure.

I thoroughly enjoyed this audio book. The narration was excellent and I forgot it was a single person doing the voices which is always a mark of excellence.
Engrossed throughout and I had no urge to fast forward through any of it.
Completely recommend this as a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Wonderful book, wonderful narrator

The post-apocalyptic plot may not sound like a feel-good story but that’s exactly what this is. An absolutely wonderful book and really well-read.

didnt work for me as an audio book

just didn't work as an audio book as lots of social media post dialogue, some strange details thrown in with no context or follow up ... not for me I'm afraid
