Summary

If you've ever felt a crumpling in your chest when another friend tells you that they're pregnant... If you've ever wondered why everyone else seems to find it so easy... If you've ever experienced the pursuit of motherhood... This audiobook is for you.

It is currently estimated that one in five couples have difficulty conceiving. Hepburn’s audiobook, which describes her long and, at times, heartbreaking journey to have a child, has been called a cross between Bridget Jones's Diary and Eat Pray Love for the infertile generation.

Amazing book

It seems strange to say I loved this book but I found it so interesting to listen to Jessica’s story. A real insight into the difficulty of the journey of infertility. Thank you for telling your story.

Incredible story read beautifully

I devoured this in just a few days. I’ve read a lot of memoirs about trying to conceive and infertility and this one really stood out. I just loved the way Jessica told her story with humour and just enough emotion to make you feel fully invested in the outcome of every twist and heartbreaking turn. I thought her performance of reading it was perfect. Dry humour and nothing overplayed. It was really touching to hear the emotion in her voice a couple of times. A heartbreaking but incredible story. Would really recommend to anyone whether you are dealing with infertility or not.

An honest insight into the fertility journey

This audiobook is a must for anyone wanting to understand the heartache of a fertility journey. It would be equally valuable for health professionals, friends and families accompanying couples through this minefield. By performing it herself, Jessica Hepburn makes a brutally honest truth compelling. She unfolds the emotional rollercoaster couples experience, the lack of privacy, secrecy, shame, the strain on their relationship and the crippling financial toll. A well written book and easy to listen to despite the sadness because you learn so much!
