Remember when strangers came door-to-door with fresh-baked pies, families gathered around black-and-white TV sets, and small towns held tight to their secrets? Jason A. Jones remembers—but in this collection of blood-curdling tales, these slice-of-life moments curdle into something far more sinister.
A pie salesman promises sweet autumn comfort… but delivers something far darker. Two murderous thieves flee into an abandoned mall, where vengeful spirits have prepared a very special shopping experience. An unmarked horror tape possesses a mother with a demonic entity. In the 1960s, a little girl's television set starts making malevolent demands. An AI writing assistant begins manifesting its creator’s darkest prompts into reality.
In these tales and others, Jones proves that the good old days weren't just simpler times—they were hunting grounds.
