Brilliant

This is the second book in the series and now in my top 5 books of all time. This is likely because of the superb mixture of the author style and the rather inspired narration.

No, I do not in fact have any relation to the author nor was I paid in any way. I just think the book the s***.

Awesome second book

This book continues in the theme of the first. It is a hilariously fun apocalypse adventure. The characters and the world deepen nicely, and I definitely like the crazy and unique set of ragtag adventurers and powers we get.

A really great second book

It's a great addition to the series, very funny and very entertaining. But the author still hasn't achieved the perfect ratio on what is funny ranting and what is ranting that inevitably turns into excruciating long run ons. I had to skip through quite a few times during those moments because it just wouldn't stop otherwise. Lol But besides that it really was a great and fun book to listen to.

Fun and different

This is something fun and different in the genre, can’t wait for the next book. One of the best narrators I’ve listened to in a long time.

lmao

weather waxing poetically about mans place in the universe or lamenting not being able to hide his boner due to no pants. This series is amazing. Well written and expertly narrated, book 2 of Bens Damn Adventure does not disappoint!

Only so far

Well Johnathan did a great job in this and it had its funny parts, The problem with this book is substance and moving forward with a adventure. This book is 90% dialog, most inner. Moving forward with the story? Not so much. Learning more about the world and how to get out? Not so much. Currently as I see it, and at the rate of a snail pace, getting back at the Space Elves is going to take about 100 books and that is being generous.

I’m struggling with how to rate this book...

On the one hand it was entertaining and the humor, while not laugh out loud funny, is still pretty good, and the narration is expertly paired with the tone of the novel. On the other hand, there is very little plot or character development in this. It’s almost like the author cops out and just avoids the leveling and development aspect of the book for the whole second half.

I feel like Howry should have spent more time on story writing and less on mildly amusing one-liners and humorous situations. Because if you compare this book to the first one, in this book very little of consequence actually happens to move the plot, advance the characters or broaden the world/universe.

That said, I did find it engaging and entertaining and I will absolutely pick up the next installment. I just hope that Mr. Howry balances book 3 a bit better and we get some real adventure and excitement.

Great... But Could Have been Epic.

This sequel was indeed a great listen. The humor was on point, the story was very enjoyable and the characters are very original.

However the complete lack of romance in this series is highly annoying. When someone is constantly in life and death situations everyone except for the most frigid of people will develop a massive sex drive with an emphasis on procreation. Perhaps it is a bit early for our MC due to the slow timespan inside the books. But I do not think it too much to ask our author for at least a single romantic moment from somebody.
