Very boring and dull

Just finished it and can say even with the "big" battle at the end it's just boring and dull. The book is 40% meetings and secret meetings with characters that are easily forgettable and just easily killed off. I didn't enjoy the narration either as most of the voices sounded the same and some of the tough guy voices were almost comical.

This stuff will make you a god damned sexual tyrannosaurus, just like me.

Everything a Predator novel should be and more. Full of action and you really get involved with the Reaper team. Very well narrated also.

I mirror what others say - this is the movie we all deserved.

Predator

I despair at the state of the Predator and Alien franchises at this moment in time. However I will say for the most part I enjoyed this story. it should've been the movie though.

SOME NASTY WAYS TO GO

the narration was solid and the story was too, so a solid 4 stars all round. There are some gruesome deaths by the predator that may very well make you wince.

very arbitrary, not that interesting.

I enjoyed 'the predetor' as it follows the film well, but this one was very dull and did not really give you any memorable characters

Great intro to the Predator Universe

Great story, Predator was a bas ass. Reapers were badder asses. Overall great banter, action, death and wanton destruction and surprisingly a bit of humor. Narrator was median.

Great Prequel

If the movie is a great as this pre quel, then you're in for a ride. Of course I don't hold too much with hollywood script writers who often think they can do a better job by rewriting an already great storyline. if they leave it alone and follow the direct line from this prequel then you're in for a ride.
If you are just a fan of the Predator genre, then this one a must. There are more questions answered here than previously from just the movie, how and why the Predators come here to hunt. And there is more, perhaps an answer to the bigger Predators seen in the move "PREDATORS". Either way it is a great storyline and can probably stand alone if you don't know enough about the entire genre...Read it, go see the movie and enjoy the ride.

Super Cool

Thoroughly entertaining!! the author and reader immerse you in this other world, of covert operatives versus the predator. Ill be listening to all the predator books, I hope they are half as good!! Enjoy

Decent story, poor acting

While the story was entertaining, and moved at a decent pace the narrator was not suited for audiobooks. terrible inflections, terrible acting. He makes Schwarzenegger look like an Oscar performing actor. I had a hard time getting through this one, and only because it was free.

Good story, OK voice acting

The story was good. The acting was mediocre, yet good enough to finish the story.

Adds nothing

As far as prequels go, this one was rather pathetic. I liked the story fine, but it really didn't add anything to the movie. I don't think any of the characters from the movie were in it (but they were pretty forgettable too) and pretty much everyone died anyway. I was also disappointed in this as well as the movie of the lack of the use of the term Yautja to describe the Predator. It's not to say I particularly like the term (I think it sounds stupid), but if you are gonna make a word part of the canon, use it. Also the one time I heard it used in the book, it sounded like the Predator was using it ot describe humans. Also, the author did a poor job of making the Predator sound alien. It really felt like the equivalent of a human in a rubber suit or with a handful of prosthetics. I liked, but not a lot.

To top it off, the reader was really just reading. Every character really sounded the same and that made it hard to follow.

Meh, not bad.

I don't usually read these kinds of books and I feel like it was a slow burn to start but it caught for the most part and burned pretty well. Not my favorite read but it entertained me pretty well for the day.

Best Predator Story Yet

I enjoyed this much more than the movies. The plot was great and the story made a lot of sense, especially in this scenario where skilled human killers had to take on a highly aggressive alien like the Predator. The main characters were relatable and interesting in their own right. Well done James A. Moore. And James Cronin made listening definitely enjoyable.
