I’m a fan of the series, I had low expectations and I was surprised, not great but very good and I enjoyed it, a job well done, if your a sci fi fan I recommend

Great intro to the Predator Universe

Great story, Predator was a bas ass. Reapers were badder asses. Overall great banter, action, death and wanton destruction and surprisingly a bit of humor. Narrator was median.

Great Prequel

If the movie is a great as this pre quel, then you're in for a ride. Of course I don't hold too much with hollywood script writers who often think they can do a better job by rewriting an already great storyline. if they leave it alone and follow the direct line from this prequel then you're in for a ride.
If you are just a fan of the Predator genre, then this one a must. There are more questions answered here than previously from just the movie, how and why the Predators come here to hunt. And there is more, perhaps an answer to the bigger Predators seen in the move "PREDATORS". Either way it is a great storyline and can probably stand alone if you don't know enough about the entire genre...Read it, go see the movie and enjoy the ride.

Adds nothing

As far as prequels go, this one was rather pathetic. I liked the story fine, but it really didn't add anything to the movie. I don't think any of the characters from the movie were in it (but they were pretty forgettable too) and pretty much everyone died anyway. I was also disappointed in this as well as the movie of the lack of the use of the term Yautja to describe the Predator. It's not to say I particularly like the term (I think it sounds stupid), but if you are gonna make a word part of the canon, use it. Also the one time I heard it used in the book, it sounded like the Predator was using it ot describe humans. Also, the author did a poor job of making the Predator sound alien. It really felt like the equivalent of a human in a rubber suit or with a handful of prosthetics. I liked, but not a lot.

To top it off, the reader was really just reading. Every character really sounded the same and that made it hard to follow.

Can't wait for the movie!

This book was pretty good. I couldn't stop listening. Just couldn't help thinking, if all these guys were the elite of the best of the military, why keep chest tapping? Why not go for the head? That's the only thing that bothered me. Other than that, it was great!
