How the autonomic nervous system work

Polyvagal theory appears that autism and perhaps other psychiatric disorders are associated with autonomic nervous system that remove the individual from direct social contact by supporting the adaptive defensive strategies of mobilization. Author explained a lot about how the autonomic nervous system work.

Interesting and useful

Very interesting read, although somewhat detailed with medical information. The practical applications of stimulating your vagus nerve have been very helpful. Taught me a lot about myself. I wish I had listen it much earlier in my life.

Realistic advice provides in honest ways

I took a huge useful information from this audible. It's elegantly composed, and the hypothesis is grounded in a down to earth way. The activities, all of which you can do yourself. I think this is the best audible I have ever encountered on this subject and its related states of physical and mental health.

A great and solid scientific theory

I found in this audiobook many answers to my clinical questions. Highly recommended for medical doctors, psychologists and students, or for anyone who wants to know better how the nervous system really works and how it affects our biological, personal and social life.
