Summary

How can someone so smokin' hot be so bad in bed? I mean, Sean Cassidy is absolute rubbish. Rubbish. He is the epitome of walking, talking false advertising and I want a refund! Plus he's an arsehole. So...what is wrong with me that I can't stop thinking about him?

The Pixie

Lucy Fitzpatrick doesn't like rugby.

As the little sister of Ireland's most infamous rugby player, Lucy can't seem to escape the championship-sized shadow cast by her big brother, or her mother's frequent attempts to micromanage her future. Her rainbow hair is as free-spirited as her quest for inner peace, yet overbearing expectations keep bringing her down. And when she's down, her compulsive little problem lands her in seriously big trouble.

The Player

Sean Cassidy is a cold-hearted brute...or so he's been told. Frequently. By everyone.

His blonde locks, baby blues, and rock hard bod make ladies the world over drool with desire. As the rugby world's second most infamous player, he should be basking in his success. But Sean has never been content settling for second place, and his frequent confrontations with Lucy's big brother leave him cold. And when he's cold, his compulsive little problem lands him in the lap of Lucy Fitzpatrick.

The Plan

Sean has a problem only Lucy can solve. Lucy has a problem only Sean can fix. The solution seems obvious: you scratch my back, and I'll bail you out of jail. But when their business arrangement unexpectedly leaves Sean scorching hot and Lucy on the precipice of inner peace, can they convince the world - and Lucy's big brother in particular - that this is the real deal?

Either way, both the Player and the Pixie are about to teach each other some pretty monumental lessons about family, life, but most importantly, love.

The Pixie and the Player is a full-length, romantic comedy novel, can be enjoyed as a standalone, and is the second book in the Rugby Series.

not at all what I expected

I'd been putting off reading this book by authors I like because of the things people said. What a mistake! I loved it.

Hot and funny

A fun and hot enjoyable read. I didn't like the accents shauns voice was a mix between a posh Londoner and Irish it was confusing at first but the story was good.

Lucy falls for her brother's rival and they have a secret fun affair until they both begin to fall hard for each other.

Excellent book

Probably my favourite in the Rugby series, I have loved this story. The characters are complex and deep, and their slow evolution together makes for a great time. Snark and witty comebacks abound, which makes it all the more enjoyable.
I also like the slightly unusual story, a welcome change from the usual "player" storyline.
Performance-wise, I found the fact that Sean's accent was different between Lucy's narration and his a bit distracting, but it was not too much of an issue. As for the Irish accents, being French meant that I have very little to say about their accuracy. All I can say is that they did sound vaguely Irish to my ears, which worked just fine as far as I am concerned.

All in all, a very, very good book.

Loved this book and audiobook

How can you not love a story about a sexually inept posh male and a cleptomaniac rainbow haired girl. It's funny, angsty and us misfits are entitled to our happy ever afters too. If you aren't aware that flaws are humorous this isn't for you. Plus that male Irish accent.....drooling!

Enjoyable, light easy read. Personally though, I did not warm to Sean and Lucy as much as I did with Ronin and Annie in book 1, they did not appeal to me as people and I had no compassion for them throughout. The story was well written, I loved revisiting the previous characters, the chemistry between Sean and Lucy was great at times, but I just didn't feel them. It has not however put me off reading book 3, I'll be starting it soon, I'm hoping that Bryan and Eilish's story will have me back in the zone. The narrator's didn't really work for me.

Terrible narrator

Couldn't listen to this, the male narrator sounded like Loyd Grossman and way too old for the actual book character. Don't waste your credits it's a shocker
