Summary

#1 New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Nora Roberts enchants again with this beloved classic about the passionate and headstrong MacGregor family.

Brooding loner Preston McQuinn's new apartment, like his life, is just the way he prefers it - dark and empty. But when sunny Cybil Campbell comes barging into his well-ordered gloom, he can't deny a grudging fascination with his bright, bubbly neighbor. Preston thought he'd closed the door on love for good, so why is he suddenly longing to open up his heart to his incredibly perfect neighbor?

An old favorite put to audio. Angela Dawe did a terrific job bring it to life. Cybal is a free spirit who talks incessantly, cares completely and loves with everything she has. She is what I wish I could be. Preston is a man just like Cybals father, grouchy, ornery and a loner. A perfect match.

The Perfect Neighbor

Once again Daniel sets up a couple in a very round about way. Even though the family knows of his meddling ways it takes them a while to see it happening to them.

Love this series

I read this series years & years ago. I am glad I had the opportunity to listen to it now. With that being said, I won't listen again. For the most part I can listen to this narrator, but she is why I won't listen again. I knew I liked the series so I tolerated the narrator. Many have already commented on her lisp which I mostly noticed when she did the Scottish accent. The longer I listened the more it bothered me. And her New Orleans accent with Matthew in this book was terrible.
I'll be returning this series based on the narrator.

Loved yet another Nora Roberts book

I love so many of her books and this is yet another 5 star story and performance. At least I still have a few more to enjoy.

Story ok, Narrator Awful! Just Awful!

This is one of Nora's early books and thank goodness she's gotten better. This book is one-step away from a young reader book. The female lead is 24 and sounds and acts like she is 16 with little to no life experience. She's the type of person you might like in college and doesn't change after college so you avoid her.

The narrator talks way too fast. It's as if she's has a limited amount of time to reading the script. No conversational tone just spewing out the words at warp speed in this Pollyanna, bright sunny, meet me in St. Louis kind of tone. The male character tone is fine but it was just too much. Luckily, I didn't use a credit on this book and it unfortunately cost $5. The sample was of the male lead talking because if it was the female talking I would have never purchased it.

The narrator ruined a ho-hum book and made it awful. I will never listen to Angela Dawe read anything if she hasn't improved past this type of reading.

Hate this narrator

Hate this narrator. Just don't like her style. Might have liked the story better if read by someone else.

Slow

Not one of her better stories. Hard to get into. To many twist and turns
