I started listening to this and couldn't stop. The descriptions and the audio effects and music were so vivid that I felt like I was physically in the Seychelles with the characters, and the twists and turns kept me surprised! I originally started listening because of Billie Piper, but all three narrators were amazing.

Gripping listen

I genuinely don’t think I took a breath during the final 20% of this audiobook.

The Other Mother follows Daisy, a nanny who deliberately works her way into the life of successful tech entrepreneur Anna Woodburn. Daisy has history with Anna and an agenda of her own, but what follows quickly becomes a completely unhinged game of revenge, obsession, seduction and manipulation.

This is definitely a psychological thriller, but it’s much more romance and spice heavy than I expected which personally I LOVED. The dynamic between Daisy, Anna and Theo gets progressively messier and half the fun was trying to work out who was actually manipulating who.

The pacing does slow slightly through the middle while those relationships develop, but the final 20% MORE than made up for it. Every time I thought we’d reached peak insanity, something else happened. 😂

But the absolute standout is the audio production. Billie Piper, Ellie Bamber and Daniel Ings are fantastic. This feels much closer to a full cast audio performance than a traditional audiobook and the sound design makes everything incredibly immersive. Billie Piper in particular was perfect.

Think The Housemaid meets The White Lotus, with revenge, surveillance, forbidden attraction, spice and rich people making increasingly terrible decisions.

The audio production is INCREDIBLE!

I got so immersed into the world that Stark painted and the actors performed, I listened to the whole story in a few days. A story that almost could really happen - and that was one of my favourite things about it. The characters were smart and the story was really driven by them. I enjoyed hearing and reflecting on how I see the characters when they are described by one another and then hearing the inner world of the actual character. The pacing was perfect for me - not too much, not too little. The sound effects were great too. The hot scene in the caves...YES. Probably could have had more hot scenes, but then it would have become a different genre :) Looking forward to the next thing from this writer!

really enjoyed, my first time listening to an audio drama like this sound effects blew me away n nice storyline. i liked that she became the other mother by the end. Looking forward to hearing more from this author
