Summary

Born prematurely, Christoff wasn't as big or as strong as his older brother or the other younglings in the village. Unable to fit in, he does the best he can, helping his father and mother on their farm. His life changes when the mountain near their farm awakens. Believing he is the only one who can quiet it, he retreats to the mountain to watch over the village that shunned him.

A hermit for centuries, he dreams of the day he can move on to his next life - a life that he hopes will give him a chance to find his true mate. He knows his time has come when the mountain begins to tremble again. What he doesn't expect is a group of younglings who suddenly appear in the hopes of saving something called Christmas. When the mountain erupts, he never expects to awaken on a strange planet lightyears away, or to meet an unusual woman who sees beneath his deformity to the warrior hidden within.

Can the love of a special woman and her family heal Christoff's tortured soul? Find out what happens when the Goddess Aikaterina gives the Old Dragon his very own special Christmas.

This collection includes the bonus novella A Dragonlings' Magical Christmas, in which the Dragonlings Roam and Alice have suddenly disappeared. Now their parents are in a race to find them before they're lost forever.

OK I cried ... lol what a beautiful story

Would you listen to The Old Dragon of the Mountain's Christmas again? Why?

Yes definitely and already have. It's a beautiful storyline about overcoming adversity, friendship and love.

What did you like best about this story?

When they met the dragon and offered him their friendship - if only we could live in world like this.

Which character – as performed by David Brenin – was your favourite?

No no no no you can't pick a favourite character I love all the little dragonlings you can't actually pick a favourite. I LOVE THEM ALL.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book definitely made me cry, it was such a sweet storyline. Absolutely beautiful and so inspiring with how determined they are and such a sweet offer of friendship.

Any additional comments?

This would be a purchase I would highly recommend. In fact all S.E.Smiths stories are wonderful and I have not hesitation in recommending any of them.

Brilliant

Another truly wonderful, sexy and funny story about an older couple. The depth of the characters and the way these characters are brought to life from S E Smiths' other books is brilliant... I loved it

The primary story is great, the second one has potential

I would have enjoyed the youngling's story more if the kids'dialog didn't sound like Jar Jar Binks. Having raised 4 boys, the dialog was unrealistic and distracting.
Still, I happily own most of S.E. Smith's audio books and a lot of her ebooks. I enjoy her writing, usually, and her attention to detail really helps you to feel like you're a part of her story.
David Brenin does an excellent job, as usual.
I still would recommend this book to fans of this author, but for new fans...this is not the best example of her capabilities as a writer. She usually has strong dialog from realistic characters.

OLD DRAGON FOR CHRISTMAS!!

What made the experience of listening to The Old Dragon of the Mountain’s Christmas the most enjoyable?

THE EASE WITH WHICH I CAN ACTUALLY VISUALIZE THE STORY IN MY MIND. YOU FEEL FOR HIM AND EDNA. LOVED IT!

What did you like best about this story?

THE LOVE, THE HOPE, AND THE GREAT STORY-LINE.

Which scene was your favorite?

THERE WERE SEVERAL - I LOVED THE PART WHERE EDNA FELL INTO HIS ARMS; I LOVED THE PART WHERE HER FAMILY ACCEPTED HIM. I LOVED THE PART HOW HE HELPED EDNA'S GRANDDAUGHTER AND SHE HELPED HIM.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

NOT SURE ABOUT A FILM - BUT WOULDN'T A SCI-FI SERIES BE NICE? OF COURSE SOME OF THE SEX SCENES WOULD HAVE TO BE TONED DOWN FOR THE SCREEN.

Any additional comments?

IF I HAD TO FIND ONE THING WRONG - IT WOULD BE THAT THE STORY ENDED TOO SOON. THAT'S THE WAY I FEEL ABOUT EVERY GOOD BOOK I FIND.

This a story about love and acceptance

I'd already read the second book. The first book was a continuation of the second as Christoph finds love of his own.
The goddess saves him and sends him to earth a couple days before Christmas to find his true mate Edna. Christoph has led a lonely life all by himself on the mountain. But now he meets Edna and her family. He has had a disability since birth and his dragon can't fly. So when Edna's granddaughter arrives with a prosthetic, they help each other learn about living fuller lives.
This a story about love and acceptance. I love that the older couples get happy ever after too! The narrator continues to amaze me!

Adorable!

This was an absolutely adorable story. I do think it would have been better to have the Dragonlings story first, though.

baby talk

Setting: Valdire and Earth
Genre: Sci-fi/fantasy romance

Two novellas involving the offspring of couples in previous novels in the series. The first novella, The Old Dragon of the Mountain’s Christmas, started out really well. However, as soon as the toddlers showed up, things went downhill. What the heck were children (too young to have learned to speak properly) doing in the mountains without an adult? And then Christoff’s dragon, despite its great age, also has the vocabulary of an intellectually challenged child. It was irritating.
I couldn’t finish the book. I couldn’t listen to 4 more hours of baby talk.

I love the dragonlings!

Love the adventures the little ones get into and the fathers are as bad as the young ones! Roam and Alice need a symbiot too! I need more stories that make me laugh!
