Summary
In 1562, Michel de Nostradamus led a small party on an expedition deep into the hostile Desert of Barbary, now known as the Sahara. Without any knowledge of what they might find, the small party entered the vast desert in search of a miracle.
In the present day, Dr. Zara Delacroix enlists the help of Sam Reilly to hunt for answers about a book she believes was buried in the Sahara centuries earlier to protect humanity from some great catastrophe. This ancient manuscript was named The Book of Nostradamus.

A series similar to old style Adventure Novels
I love these books.
To me, the style these books are written in is reminiscent of the old style adventure novelists like H. Rider Haggard - who wrote King Solomons Mines and its sequel plus many other novels.
The author kindly gave me a free copy of book three and I was only halfway through listening to it when I knew I had to stop and read the first two before I finished it and was very happy to find this compilation.
If you want an adventure story that is just that without the gory bits that often are added to modern novels just to colour it but don't actually add to the story.
I have now listened to all six available on Audible and am sad the rest of the series so far is not available via Audible. I hope they read this review and consider adding them as listening via Kindle is just not the same.

just wasnt for me
When I started this book I was unaware that it was the 6th installment of a series and there was no indication of that on the cover. Maybe if I had read the previous books I would have been more inclined to like this one. In my opinion at times it was far too descriptive and I felt that the author was going off on a tangent. The storyline started off with promise but soon fell into ridiculousness. I'm sorry to say that this book was just not for me but I'm sure many others would enjoy it . I was given this book by the author/narrator in return for an honest and unbiased review

Where would the world be without Nostradamus?
The Nostradamus Equation - Where would the world be without Nostradamus? He and his prophecies appear in a multitude of works.
This is an interesting variation on him & his prophecies, Fast paced, full of non stop action. This book maintains the high standard for the Sam Reilly series. Absolutely brilliant read/listen, as all books in the series it is a standalone.. a real plus.
David Gilmore once again does superb narration, Audio quality & throughly edited combine to make this a pleasure to read.

Outstanding!!!
I love this action series by Christopher Cartwright! Sam Reilly is an endearing character with a panache for adventure and treasure hunting. The premise of searching for a Nostradamus artifact and figuring out the code is thought provoking. This adventure has so much going for it. Original story, vivid imagery, near death situations, mystery and suspense are all woven in the story. I was pulled into the book from the very beginning. David Gilmore added to the enjoyment with his distinguishable voices for the various characters. This book is a standalone listen and part of a series. I thought this was time well spent, and look forward to the next adventure.

Good book, but "French" accent drove me nuts
This was a fun listen, but really seemed to stretch reality for me. I have mostly gotten used to that in this series, but this was stretched more than usual.
I really liked that this book is starting to fill things in regarding the other crew members, especially the women. And I really enjoyed some parts of the story line.
My only real problem was the the accents from the narrator. It sounded like he was capable of two voices,..American male, and German male. Almost everyone ends up forced into the first. But hearing someone described as being French/Persian but have a voice of a German male drove me nuts every time "she" talked. This was very distracting .
This is still a fun book, and added a few more important revelations about key parts of the back story.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair review.

Not Your Typical Nostradamus Story
Let me start first by saying that I first left a review for the collection this book contained (Sam Reilly Vol.2) but was more than happy to leave an individual review. This series rocks! I love Sam Reilly. As usual, Mr Cartwright takes an event, person or place of historic interest and puts his spin on it, this time about Nostradamus. There's action, adventure, suspense, mystery and history (which makes you think). I, as usual, listened to this in one sitting because I can't stand to stop a Sam Reilly book until it ends. :) The narration by David Gilmore is awesome! I love how he portrays the characters and does it with style.

Another Exciting Adventure!
Nostradamus has drawn the interest of many for hundreds of years. This book will be no exception. A woman searches for a long missing book in the vast Saharan desert, hidden hundreds of years ago by Nostradamus himself. Could it really contain the power to change the future?
Sam Reilly is on a search of his own. When their paths cross violently, he is drawn into her search, finding more common ground that either expected. Because others want the book desperately and will kill to get it.
It’s very exciting! Uncovering the history of the book, searching for the equation, all while fighting off those who wish them harm. Their journey takes them places they may not escape, all while deciphering the meaning of Nostradamus and his notes.
Great book and terrific series!
