C.S. Lewis' apologetic classic The Screwtape Letters is full of keen wit and wise counsel—if one is a Christian believer. Such a reader will find much to ponder in its pages. But instead of a wily senior devil who offers advice to a mentee nephew on how to secure the damnation of humans, what if the letter writer were a clever angel who instructs his underling how to keep humans firmly fixed in their Christian faith? The Needletoe Letters presents this other side, with veteran angel Needletoe penning reasoned advice and sound guidance to his inexperienced angel nephew, Wiltwing, across thirty-one letters. His marching orders? To keep Christian believers hoodwinked and flummoxed! Open this book, and see if you don't recognize the truth in Needletoe's wise counsel and mature reason. But be warned: once you hear the trade secrets of guardian angels, you might never approach your own faith the same way again!

I was really happy to find Dr Price has made this available as an audiobook. I'd been meaning to read the paperback for ages, but life gets busy sometimes, eh? Anyway, it's great. A response to C.S. Lewis' The Screwtape Letters, Dr Price brings his deep knowledge of the bible and biblical criticism to bear. I used to be a christian, and throughout the book, as Dr Price reveals the mental gymnastics performed by christians to maintain their faith, I was thinking, Yes, I used to do exactly that! This book is powerfully insightful and not a little fun. I happily recommend it to all, christians and non-christians alike.
