Summary

After being jilted at the altar, Zoe Moore flees to Boston, America, where she works as nanny to five-year-old Ruby Miller and her little brother, Samuel. Ruby and Samuel lost their mother in an accident; their father, Ryan Miller, is so wrapped up in his grief that he barely notices his two children. Whatever happened to the loving man she keeps hearing about from his neighbours?

Definitely a re listen

I absolutely loved this book, the story and characters are so loveable, you can't help but fall for them. The only thing that bothered me a little was the narrators Boston accent, which sounded like a bad fat Tony impression from the Simpsons!

Awful!

It really pains me to write such a review. Normally I absolutely love JC’s work but to be honest I could not get past chapter 11, and the only reason I stuck with it for that long is because I normally absolutely love her work. I kept hoping it would get better but I I finally gave up as I could not stand any of the characters, I found them incredibly irritating and sublimely stupid! Finally decided to call it a day when all the main character could do was go on and on and on and on and ON about her boss’s body, her boss who treats her like crap and is the kind of guy that you really really want to pee in his coffee!

I am really really really disappointed in this book

Characters were implausible, story didn't hold me

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The story line didn't hold my attention, the characters and their actions were implausible at times and the narrators accent was off-putting. Not my favorite read this year

Has The Nearly-Weds put you off other books in this genre?

NO but possibly this author and certainly this narrator

Would you be willing to try another one of Emma Gregory’s performances?

No

Do you think The Nearly-Weds needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

definitely not

Ending felt rushed

The last few chapters felt rushed with no details, a very quick ending with no epilogue, quite disappointing finish.

Enjoyable easy listen

Really enjoyed this book. Very easy listening with good basic story that had moments of humour. Great narrator too.

Very very enjoyable, laugh out loud entertainment just what I needed and I just loved the narration, all the accents were spot on. I look forward to more from the author and narrator.

enjoyable daft romance

A Guilty pleasure. This was nothing strenuous, just a simple, light, predictable romance. the chapters are nice and short. This wasn't world class but it kept me entertained while doing housework. I think the reader did a good job.
