Summary
Jon Pertwee, Leslie Phillips, Stephen Murray, and Ronnie Barker star in these four BBC radio episodes. In "Farewell to HMS Varsity ('Drifting Through')", minesweeper HMS Varsity is towed on its final trip to the breakers' yard - along with some unsuspecting passengers.... In "The Army Lark ('Blowing Themselves Up')", Troutbridge must take an army platoon to detonate explosives on a Belgian beach, but Phillips has trouble finding Belgium. In "Pertwee's Enlistment Expires ('Avoiding Redundancy')", Pertwee is summoned to Captain Povey's office and offered a cigar: he has forgotten to re-enlist. Will he really be discharged? In "The POW Escape Exercise ('Escaping Back Into')", Pertwee, Phillips, and Murray are transported to a secret location in the back of a military truck. Their mission? To escape from a POW camp under the simulation of wartime conditions....
