Harry is back, assigned to the LAPD's Open-Unsolved Unit with his former cop ally and partner, Kizmin Rider. These detectives are the Closers. Three stories, brought together in one edition, from 'crime-writing genius' Michael Connelly. In the title story, a fatal accident on Mulholland Drive turns out to be part of an ingenious plot - but is it too ingenious? In Two Bagger, a dedicated cop working for the Gang Intelligence Unit finally gets the payoff he's worked so hard for - but it's not what he's expecting. In Cahoots, a team of scam artists meet for a high-stakes poker game but who is scamming who?

It is barely a crime - just the theft of a single pack of gum. But each crime that follows is bigger, and each accompanying note promises the next crime will be even worse. When FBI Special Agent Dagny Gray is asked to investigate the gum thief’s fifth crime, a bank robbery, it seems like an intriguing case. However there is nothing funny about the double murder that follows. Special Agent Gray becomes part of an unlikely trio of three investigators competing to stop the escalation of crimes, often with unconventional tactics.

Summary
Former FBI agent Rachel Walling is working a dead-end stint in South Dakota when she gets the call she's been dreading for four years. The Poet is back. And he has not forgotten Rachel. He has a special present for her.
Harry Bosch is adjusting to life in Las Vegas as a private investigator and as a new father. He gets a call, too, from the widow of a friend who died recently. Previously in his FBI career, the friend worked on the famous case tracking the killer known as The Poet. This fact alone makes some of the elements of his death doubly suspicious. And Harry Bosch is heading straight into the path of the most ruthless and inventive murderer he has ever encountered.

Stop Recording Music & F/X Over the Reader's Voice
I enjoy the Bosch Books and they are all well read but the producers keep recording annoying music and sound effects over the reader's voice. Stop it! I want to hear the words not Pan Pipes or the a sound effect of water lapping against a boat. Grrrrrr.

Narrators error.
Im enjoying the story and the plot-but not the narrator. Unfortunately this man makes the mistake-as some others do-of attempting to “act” the voices of characters in the story. The ludicrous pitch when trying to imitate a woman’s voice-or a man in authority is so very annoying. The clue is in the title-narrator. Narrate-don’t act. But hey! what do u know? I’m just a listener-treat me as if I’m dense.

A great story and good narration
This book sees Bosch come full circle. Feeling on the outside of law enforcement he makes some big life choices. Not particularly liking the interaction with his ex wife but the rest if the story is good. I like the way each book is rounded and complete. No need for cliffhangers you get the next book for no other reason than loving the stories.

poetic justice
Where does The Narrows rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Harry Bosch is at the top of my list of favourites,,always. A plot that challenges me and pulls me right in to find this elusive chameleon.the fbi joisting with LAPD leaves room for a smile, albeit tense. All of this plot sat tightly together with briliant flow from vivd scene to vivd scene.MC created a smart way to bring some sweet promise of romance back into Harry's life for the next book.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
I can barely breathe out I am in so much suspense! A gifted criminal who knows the ropes and is one step ahead, MC lures the best from each character, we know that Harry is going to get his man, but the catch is a chilling journey.
Which scene was your favorite?
Harry is always so smooth. Loved the way he just rocks on up in the desert and then even gets rescued by Rachel. The almost tragic narrows and then it doesn't even end there. Where next?
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
poetic justice! Has to become "a Poet's Justice"
Any additional comments?
Really missed the music in this one, especially since he was driving long distances. Some Frank Morgyn or who would he have like in this situation?
