Summary

Incredible Journey

Problems with audio editing.
As with the entire series, which was an excellent story, there was not enough time inserted where necessary to denote scene changes, hence my zero rating for performance, even though John Lee's narration was near faultless.

The end to one mammoth listen
First off I read the books when they were first published. I loved the huge space opera spread over the three massive books. Now years later I got involved with the Confederation of Planets once more only this time as an audio journey. It must nigh on 130 hours of listening! It’s has been wonderful although you have to keep on your toes as although there are chapters, some of them over an hour long, there numerous threads inside each one. The narrator jumps from one to the next without drawing breath. Thank goodness for the option to jump back 30 seconds.
There are still two other sets of books by Peter Hamilton set in the same universe. I need to build up my credits or it could work out quite expensive.

Just as good as I remembered them
well read by the narrator I found the audio books to be well worth a listening. For space opera these are up there with the Lensman book's by E E Doc Smith. I have read all of this authors nooks and have never been disappointed.

Amazing Iove Hamilton
I can listen to some of Hamilton’s space operas over and over and this is one of them. This guy is a bit like Joshua Calvert - touched by something special to deliver such confident and consistently beautiful writing,

Epic space opera from the master.
An epic trilogy from a master in his field, spanning hundreds of characters, planets and species. Great science fiction covering a whole universe of life, death, every thing that happens inbetween and even after. The attention to detail is just simply amazing, with all the science backing up Hamiltons fiction it becomes an almost plausible sneak peek into our future technology, to a certain extent obviously.
An out of this world space opera trilogy that is a must read for sci-fi fans.
Only annoying thing is the bad editing that leaves no spaces between paragraphs, which can be disorientating and you will at some points need to skip back a few seconds to work out what happened, I still gave five stars as I don't want to take away from the amazing story.
