Summary

The death of Princess Diana, Princess of Wales, sent shockwaves around the world. A nation was left in mourning, but soon feelings of suspicion surfaced: was her death all that the Establishment might wish us to believe?

Now, after an exhaustive two-year probe, investigative writer and former journalist Noel Botham has dared to reveal what the people of Britain have always believed - that Diana's death was murder.

Using his unique contacts in the secretive worlds of intelligence and royalty, the author has uncovered the facts that prove Diana was - as she herself predicted she would be - the victim of a professional hit squad. He presents a clear account of what really happened on that fateful day of 31 August 1997. Why was the killing sanctioned? How was it executed? Was there really another car in the tunnel at the time of the crash? All of these questions and more, including how the truth was covered up by an official whitewash, are answered.

This astounding book is what all enquiring minds have been waiting for, blowing the lid off the secrets the Establishment does not want us to know. The Murder of Princess Diana firmly lays to rest the theory that Diana's death was a tragic accident, and finally gives the people of Britain the explanation they deserve.

Do not purchase this book this book does not tell you anything that you don't already know.

I would not recommend this book. The title suggests the truth is revealed but this is not the case, it is just a series of facts that are already in the public domain. The narration is the worst I've ever heard. The narrator mispronounced words constantly and read the book in the style of a news reader making it extremely difficult to listen to. He even sounded the c in the word miscellaneous. I was really looking forward to this book and found myself extremely disappointed. Do not purchase.

Narrator is so bad!!

Worst narrator ever used, shame really as book itself is quite interesting. I'll just be reading and not listening from now on.

Dreadful !

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I'm not sure it could ever reach that score for me

Has The Murder of Princess Diana put you off other books in this genre?

No , i have listened to and read many good books in the same genre.

What didn’t you like about Simon Whistler’s performance?

So boring... he drones on and on.... its like listening to kindle ' Text to speech ' !
No emotion, he reads like a news reader.

Any additional comments?

wish i could get back those hours of my life :(

A very pro Diana book with a terrible narration

What would have made The Murder of Princess Diana better?

Sadly a complete waste of money. This is a completely biased pro Diana book, full of claims winch can't be backed up. The writer has swallowed hook, line and sinker the Diana spin on her life and then gone on to swallow the Fayed spin on her death. This would be bad enough if it wasn't for the narration. I can not believe that this man can have been paid to read the book. He reads like an automated voice witty no expression whatsoever. At first I thought there was something wrong with my audio player, but no this was how it was meant to be. What were they all thinking of? And to top it off the narrator mispronounced some words.

Has The Murder of Princess Diana put you off other books in this genre?

Oh, yes, definitely.

Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Simon Whistler?

A member of actors equity, who can actually read and put expression into his/her voice.

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No.

narrator from hell

struggled to finish solely because of the absolutely dreadful narrator with his boringly slow, sing song, tone. He absolutely destroyed what could have an interesting book.

A fascinating story but terrible narration

Would you try another book written by Noel Botham or narrated by Simon Whistler?

Book by Noel Botham most defiantly, narrated by Simon Whistler not a chance!

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator ends every sentence with empathies very much like Quentin Wilson used to do on top gear, after a while this becomes super annoying.

Did The Murder of Princess Diana inspire you to do anything?

The narrator inspired me to jump off a bridge

Any additional comments?

A well-researched and fascinating story let down by really bad narration.

A clear case of murder

Noel Botham gives a clear well detailed account of princess Diana's last hours and probable murder. Many facts I had never heard of before.

powerful

Appalling mispronunciation of common words at times spoils the narration at times of a powerful and disturbing publication

Decent conspiracy theory destroyed by awful narration

I had to force myself to keep going back to this book in order to get to the detail of the content and the conclusion in spite of the narration which is awful, specifically the very poor pronunciation of many words and phrases in both English and French in particular and including numerous names of people and places. The tone and intonation is also very strange and makes for a difficult listen. Whoever, oversaw/edited (reviewed and listened to) the narration was completely off the ball.
