This is the first time I've listened to a Tom Thorne book on audio and the icing on the cake for me was hearing Mark reading the story and voicing the characters as he had them in his head when he wrote it. They just came to life! This isn't like a normal 'author reading their book' car crash - Mark has acted in his past and read very very well. His voice sucked me in and carried me along so deeply that I was shocked to find I had reached end.

As for the story - well its a Mark Billingham Tom Thorne novel - what else is there to say apart from absolutely brilliant! You could read this as your first dip into his writing but I would thoroughly recommend starting from the very beginning. You won't regret it.
