About this listen

Screenwriter Megan Silver is a waitress in an L.A. burger joint, and her life is going nowhere fast. But she has an idea worth a million dollars - if only she can get someone to read her script. Supermodel Roxana Felix is the richest, bitchiest catwalk queen of them all. But it's not enough; she wants to be a movie star, and she'll let nothing get in her way. Studio president Eleanor Marshall is the most powerful woman in Hollywood, yet the romantic inside her longs for love - and a baby. The movie, See the Lights, is the project that will bring them all together.©1996 Louise Bagshawe (P)2007 Isis Publishing Ltd. Contemporary Fiction Genre Fiction Women's Fiction

The narrator’s normal reading voice was fine, but then awful raspy (mafia style) voices for the men and weird breathy Marilyn monro crossed with Bronx accents for some of the females. It’s a shame as the books good.

Great book/bad narrating

I love the characters in this book, I have read this before and enjoyed it but decided to try the audiobook, the narrator has some weird accents at times but can be overlooked by the good story.

Amazing story

What a trashy book, just seems to lurch from one sex scene to another which is great if you have bought the book expecting that but not if you have bought it based on her other more recent novels which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I have now seen that this is one of her early books which is maybe why it is so different to her more recent ones. The only good thing I can say is that it is well read by Tara Ward. Certainly wasted a credit on this one as I won't be continuing to listen. Would give it zero starts if I could.

Trashy Bonkbuster

A great book totally ruined by the most appallingly bad voiceover. She has zero ability to emulate or understand the characters and obviously hadn’t read the book before taking on the job. Her reading is stilted and unnatural. It’s so bad I had to get a refund.

Story ruined by appalling VO
