I really enjoyed this collection, a couple not so good but the rest definitely made up for it.

I'm only partway through this book, but I can't believe I haven't come across the MHI stories before! These are tongue-in-cheek monster stories that are highly amusing, with a hint of Torchwood thrown in. I mean, legionnaire rats complete with armour communicating via smartphone?!

The narrative is great. The reader keeps the mood and tension going, then delivers a twist with such deadpan that you can't help barking out a laugh.

I've already made a point of downloading the first three novels in this series to keep me busy in the run up to Christmas :)

I have been working through the entire monster hunter series and been enjoying them very much. Then I saw the memoir series so thought a break to listen to some short stories would be a nice change. These collections of short stories are wonderful to listen to as the narrators do a great job and the stories range from the usual cast of characters like Owen and Julie but also introduce a vast array of new monster hunters from different eras. It really helps to flesh out the lore of the monster hunter universe and I’m really looking forward to listening to the other three in this series. A must listen for any fan of monster hunter international
