Summary
A missing girl. A loving mother who never gave up. A betrayed wife who doesn’t know who to trust.
Teenager Edie Hudson was nobody’s little darling, which made vanishing all too easy. Two decades later, she’s been forgotten by everyone except her mother, Samantha.
And the person who knows what happened to her.
Samantha has had a long time to remember, and to regret. Having seen how little her daughter mattered to the community in the months following her disappearance, she wonders if Edie was lost before she was even gone. Or was it guilt, not indifference, that made the locals turn a blind eye? When she meets Frances, she at last starts to hope for answers.
Because Frances is obsessed with the mystery too, after finding a photo of her husband with the girl who disappeared.
What really happened all those years ago? And just how dangerous could it be to find out?

Liked the story and writing style
I liked this book and thought the premise of the story was intriguing but have to say I was sadly a bit disappointed by the ending.

Excellent....
Extremely well written.., I heard no " mispronounciations" like the other reviewer complained. I enjoyed the not overly descriptive writing , the character development, and that air of menace. I'd rather have a little predictability than plot twists that are far fetched and silly. No the end is not a huge shocker for jaded thriller fans but the slow build up is an entertaining but sad journey.

Sleepless Again!
"The Missing" will keep you on the edge of your seat. Daisy Pearce is an author I've just discovered. This was my second discovery of hers. The first book "The Silence" was equally intriguing. Well written, spot-on Narrators. Very twisty turns of events. Characters you wish you could meet again. If you love psychological thrillers, you must read these books!

this was a very gripping suspenseful thriller. all the strong characters in this book were female, another plus. I listened to this over the last 2 days, it was that compelling. highly recommend.

Predictable
Again I fell for the publisher summary for this author. Both of them now have the same problem.
They are predictable very early in the story. If you just want a drama about a mother whose kid goes missing and her struggle this would be good.
The narrator mispronounced so many words. I'm used to the ones that the British pronounce different and none of them were those.
Can't complain that much since it was a Kindle I unlimited read and listen for free one.

Again with pointless soft porn!
Yet again, another "thriller" that opens with a gratuitous sex scene. I came here for a story about a missing child (as implied by the title), not the completely pointless soft porn in chapter two. Why? Why ruin what could potentially be a really interesting story with this stuff??? It doesn't add anything to the story! I made the executive decision not to keep suffering. Moving on to greener pastures where people keep their clothes on.

Oh My!
Such a great writer. A perfect narrator. The story won’t allow you to stop. I listened hours while inside because of a 97 degree day, when motivation to do anything was lacking. I would have given it 5 stars except for the ending. I wanted it to just finish, as it made me anxious, but that didn’t spoil my enjoyment of this book. I’m wondering if Daisy Pearce has written other books.

Great
This was a daily deal, by far the best dd I’ve listened to in the thriller genre. I would totally use a credit for this one.

A mother’s story
Well written and performed. Loved how the Author kept me on my toes. Could have gone several ways. A mother loves unconditionally.
