She's managed to claw her way up the ranks from Tea Maker and Rubbish Collector to Second Assistant Director (heavy on the assistant. Even heavier on the second.). Summary
Attraction is easy.... Falling in love can be hard.
When Hannah meets Sonny, she's irresistibly drawn to him: he's sexy and confident, but only in town on holiday. That's fine with Hannah - she doesn't do long-term relationships. And luckily for her, neither does Sonny. But before they can even so much as kiss, Sonny receives some shocking news and commits to making serious life changes - ones that can't and won't include romance.
With even a short fling now off the cards, Hannah and Sonny settle for being friends. But as summer hots up and their chemistry shows no signs of cooling, they start to question their reasons for shutting each other out.
Are they both too broken to find love? And if they tear down the walls between them, will they still like what's on the other side?

So good I brought it twice
I brought this book on my Kindle. I loved the story so much I had to get it on Audible. Hannah and Sonny are so likeable it makes you want to know their back story. And both have very sad things to come to terms with. I found myself willing them to make it, they are so perfect together. I also fell in love with the dog. This is such a great book, one I found I couldn't put down. If you love Paige's work as I do you will love this book. I recommend it. There is also mention of someone we've met before, I love the way Paige dose this.

Irritating use of English requires edit
The phrase "10 to the dozen" can mean most when related to things (i.e. most things) but means slowly if related to speed (i.e less than full pace which would be 12 to the dozen). Fast is "nineteen to the dozen". I tried to ignore this the first time it was used incorrectly but this phrase seems to be a favourite of this author. It is used more than once in this book by Paige Toon and also in at least one other of her books and it grated more each time!!

Very very detailed, but quite nice still
Don’t think I’ve ever read (listened) to a book that is so full of details. The author describes the surrounding environment and how people look and behave to the point of it almost being too much. But at the same time it’s quite lovely too. Don’t really know how I felt about it, it’s just a very prominent feature of this book.
It’s quite soppy at times, but also complex. I like how the characters constantly grow and change. A pleasant listen overall.

Not what I was expecting…
Although the book was not at all what I was expecting, I have thoroughly enjoyed the ride! Both Hannah and Sonny have their own baggage, that to an degree they have carried for so long it has claimed their future happiness. But with outside help, their own acceptance and each other, they can have their happily ever after.
This is a beautifully written story of love and friendship. I hope you enjoy the ride too!

Lovely - in the best sense of that overused word
Paige Toon’s books seem to have grown in emotional depth. If such emotionality had ever been absent I would not have returned to her many times.
In this and Someone I Used to Know, Toon shows an unusual and deft paradoxical lightness of touch while gently, yet nonetheless powerfully incorporating some tough experiences for her protagonists.
For very personal circumstantial reasons, I am unable to cope with an excess of graphically drawn potent and endless suffering, especially without an ending of redemption and happiness. This need does not mean I get the greatest enjoyment from the overly saccharine, implausible stories I sometimes have to fall on for the sheer volume of listening I rely on.
What a delight therefore, to find in Toon, stories and characters with lives that draw forth our innate empathy and care, without having to be totally rung out by their plights.
This apparent oxymoron of lightness and depth plays out in this tender and lovely book. And having been reticent since a rather less heartwarming close to one relatively recent title*, I am glad that no such disappointments flared as this sweet, thoughtful and moving story of love in her many aspects, came to a close.
Thank you Paige Toon for an extremely pleasant - lovely - listen.

Romance with a twist
Loved this story. Characters have skeletons in the closet, can they overcome them to find love? A nice change rather than predictable endings.
