Summary

We're not all like Caitlyn Jenner.

Hi, I'm Tish Mellon, a transgender woman in her 20s and author of this audiobook. My publisher calls the book a transgender memoir, but I'm too young to be writing biographies and memoirs. I'd rather think of it as a suspenseful "coming of age" book, a battle of the sexes, a chess game. To me, it's not a sleepy memoir; it's a fast-paced audio.

Well written/performed but...

It’s concerning that this was about a man who was basically grooming a young boy to dress and act like a girl . . . To train him to be a prostitute. The man brainwashes the boy to like it. And from what it sounds like, the boy does end up liking it. The boy was not transgender before meeting this man. The boy had no interest in being a female. He only starts to like it after being brainwashed by the man. I appreciate the honesty of the memoir, but I would have preferred an accompanied message implying “this is wrong” or “don’t let what happened to me happen to you.” It reads like audio porn for pedophiles. And LGBTs and their supporters are supposed to celebrate stories like this? Stories that encourage sexually exploiting and confusing kids? Not good.

Loved it!

Very unique story can’t wait for the next one. I will definitely buy it. The narrative kind of stumbled a bit which was a bit disappointing but didn’t ruin the story. I’m a fan. Can’t wait for more
