Summary
The "OMG" romance of the year, The Man Who Didn't Call by Rosie Walsh is a heart wrenching love story with a dark secret at its heart, for anyone who's waited for a phone call that didn't come.
Imagine you meet a man, spend seven glorious days together, and fall in love. And it’s mutual: you’ve never been so certain of anything.
So when he leaves for a long-booked holiday and promises to call from the airport, you have no cause to doubt him.
But he doesn’t call.
Your friends tell you to forget him, but you know they're wrong: something must have happened; there must be a reason for his silence.
What do you do when you finally discover you're right? That there is a reason – and that reason is the one thing you didn't share with each other?
The truth.

Brilliant Book!! Recommended!
I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this book. The main characters, Sarah and Eddie were very likeable, especially Eddie who was lovely, witty and very warm hearted and lovable. I just wanted the best outcome for them both. It was an unusual story with lots of twists and turns. Halfway through the book I realised that all was not as it seems and then it just got more interesting. The ending had me in tears - I won't say if they were tears of joy or tears of sorrow because I don't want to give anything away. Listen for yourself and enjoy!! Recommended!!

Fabulous novel by Rosie Walsh
Wow I loved this book! It really had me gripped from the beginning to the end and I was thinking of this book even when I wasn’t reading it, longing to return to the descriptive world Walsh creates. One minute you are laughing whilst at the same time crying and then there is the delicious twist. I would highly recommend it!

Not for cynical people
I think I am too cynical for this book... the story just annoyed me... not badly written but I should probably just cheer up!

Brilliant!
This book completely absorbed me. I usually like to eke out my audio books and ration myself to a certain amount a day, but I just couldn't turn this one off! It's beautifully written, with wonderful description and uniquely observed similes and metaphors. The narration was perfect, and the description of the Gloucestershire countryside put me right there: I could hear the insects and feel the sun on my face. The author takes us right under the skin of the two main characters and shows how the impact of traumatic events, especially those occurring when young, endures for decades. The plot kept me guessing, skillfully leading me down one path, before twisting and turning more than once before its conclusion. Although largely concerned with pain and guilt, this book is also about all the different kinds of love and is ultimately life-affirming. It's the first book I've "read" by Rosie Walsh, and I'm now going straight off to download another one by her!

The man who didn’t
It was good. A few twists and turns and you have to pause reality for a little but enjoyable. Worked for me and I’m a man! Although I can’t hold a candle to Eddie, who makes things out of wood, is the nicest person in the world and bakes his own bread!

A slow paced story
I found this quite a depressing story and the lady reading this seemed to feel the same!

Brilliant!
Wasn't instantly gripped, but didn't take long before I was hooked and couldn't stop listening, wasn't predictable and a genuinely lovely story! Highly recommend.
