This was a surprisingly fun audiobook. I went into it not really knowing what to expect, and the story pulled me in once Lance started realizing that he wasn’t just following his programming anymore. That idea alone made me curious to see what he would do next.

I enjoyed the back-and-forth between Lance and Charlie, especially as the story started revealing that there was more going on than either of them realized. It has some good action, but the mystery and the whole question of free will made it more interesting for me.

It’s a strange story in the best way, and it definitely doesn’t feel like the usual robot-versus-human plot. By the end, I was curious enough about the characters and the bigger threat to want to hear what happens in the next book.

This is a amazing fast-paced science-fiction story with a very unusual idea. I loved the characters and the story.
The story follows Lance, an advanced companion robot whose intelligence upgrade goes much further than expected. Suddenly, Lance can think and make choices for himself, which leads to a dangerous chase.
Charlie Bear Claw is the tracker sent after Lance, but things become much bigger than simply finding a runaway robot. The two discover that a much more serious threat is hiding behind everything that is happening.

This was a very interesting sci-fi book. I wasn't sure where this story was going to go with the way it started out. It was very interesting to say the least. Good read if you like sci-fi books.

The Malfunction is an exciting and easy-to-follow sci-fi audiobook. I enjoyed listening how Lance, a robot evolved and then he escaped and starts on a secret mission. The interesting cat and mouse chase between him and Charlie was also a fun part for me after Charlie went to track Lance down when he decided to use his free will. As the story unfolds, they discover they are facing a much bigger threat. It’s a fun story with action, suspense, and a good setup for the next book.
