But he’s not the only one. Ailsa MacLeod, a brilliant Scottish archivist, is armed with algorithms, drones, and the backing of a shadowy hedge fund that leverages history for profit.
What begins as a scholarly pursuit becomes a high-stakes race that leads through ancient archives, across storm-lashed coasts, and through the marshlands of the American South. As alliances shift and loyalties blur, Paul must confront a dangerous truth: the past never stays buried, but only some treasures are worth fighting for.
