Summary
The Loving Cup is the tenth in Winston Graham's sweeping series of Cornwall, Poldark.
Cornwall, 1813. A silver cup lies half forgotten in a dank cave, amongst a pile of stolen goods. Yet the tiny vessel and its inscription, "Amor gignit amorem", haunts the lives of the still-feuding Poldark and Warleggan families, as Ross, Demelza and the ambitious and powerful Sir George Warleggan watch their children make the decisions that will shape their destinies.

Excellent, in context
You should probably only read this if you've read all before it in the series. It's a familiar world that is enjoyable only to those who have already spent time in it. To those of us who have, it's excellent in all ways.

My tenth book in the series
Where does The Loving Cup: A Novel of Cornwall 1813-1815 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
A brilliant and at times gripping story line. I enjoyed this as much as all the other books
What does Oliver J. Hembrough bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
He brings the story and the characters to life.

Gripping
There's so much to learn from this book. Unputdownable (unturnoffable?) - I was in such suspense... I had to remind myself it's only fiction, not really true.

Great listening
Beautifully read and, as always by Winston Graham, a gripping yarn. As a Cornishman I picked up on some name mispronunciations, but they do not deter from the overall enjoyment.

Another Excellent rendering of the Poldark series
A dark and nail biting plot. It had me shouting 'no!' several times during my traffic jammed commute to work. Wonderfully narrated by Oliver Hembrough, who delivers a fully theatric performance. I am always drawn in and absorbed by his narration. Ross Poldark persists with some uncomfortable views on 'how to get your woman', I put this into its historical perspective, but it may cause offence to some.

Dearest Poldark
Yet another fabulous record of 19th century Cornwall with my favourite characters embroidering the lives and times in this beautiful wild and rugged county. The narrator does an amazing job at presenting the different characters’ voices and such a calm audio voice. It’s my go to night time calming influence and rarely fails to help me drift off. Always sad to come to the end but I believe I have one of 2 more books awaiting my pleasure but I shall be so sad to reach the very end .

The Loving Cup A fine book
Yet another fine book in this series ,Winston Graham writes another good bookfulll of Poldark's family with small attentions to detail that takes you straight to the Cornwall in his mind. . Through mining,money and feelings one is drawn inexorably on to the next book. An enjoyable refreshing read

Death of Elizabeth should have been the end
I wish Winston Graham had stopped at the death of Elizabeth. I have no liking for any of these new people who these books are based around and I detest Stephen Carrington and both the older Poldark children and as the books continue so their loathsome characters become more apparent. They are truly unlikeable and although I am trying to like to be frank I dont care if they all get killed off. It would be fitting and appropriate. Demelza and Ross now seem limper than a lettuce. Valentine is just a clone of George despite being the son of Ross and Geoffrey Charles seems almost an afterthought in story now. I wont want any of these books after the death of Elizabeth and I now know why they didn't bother continuing the Poldark televised when first shown in 1975. It doesnt even feel as though Winston Graham himself liked these characters and had real heart and belief in these later books. Oliver Hemsbro is excellent but sadly these books compared to the first are a total disappointment.
