Story
It’s never a good combo to be broke and desperate. You do stupid things. Like accidentally sign your soul over to hell. When I interviewed for a new security job, I didn’t bat an eye that it was for a literal graveyard shift...headstones and all. I mean, at the hourly rate they were offering, who cares? I got this. Turns out, I’m not guarding a graveyard like I thought. It seems I’ve just walked my broke ass into protecting a gate to hell. Yeah...I don’t got this.

Story
Unfortunately, not all people from magical bloodlines have powers, and at 22, I’m several years past the age they usually appear. So I’ve resigned myself to a boring, magic-less life. Then something strange happens. I get stuck in the middle of a bar fight, and instead of just punching the guy back, I blow a hole in the wall. So...I guess I do have powers. But they’re unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. This shit is definitely not normal. And it seems the magical authorities agree. I can go to school, learn to control my magic. Or they’ll take it away. Permanently.

It was an ordinary job. Another night, another asshole collector of the supernatural. I free some poor little beasties from their cages, pocket a few trinkets to pay my bills, and burn the place down on my way out. Just call me the Robin Hood of monster emancipation. I didn’t count on three manly monsters following me home like lost puppies. Stunningly hot lost puppies, but still. Now I’ve got a seductively cheeky incubus, a sweetly enthusiastic demon, and a grimly stoic angel camped out in my kitchen.

Supernatural Bounty Hunter isn't the sort of thing you see on LinkedIn. But with a rare type of magic like mine, I don't have many options. Dangerous or not, the job is mine. And it was going fine, until an old-as-sin vampire stole my mark, and with it, my pay day. Knowing I'm poor and desperate, he has offered me a job. I'll have to work by his side to help solve a top secret case. Everyone knows not to trust vampires. Especially a hot elder vampire.

Something has always been missing from my life. A hole that I could never seem to fill. When I accidentally turn a coven of witches into nightmares, I find out what that something is. Magic. And it turns out, I have a crap load of it. As a latent power awakens deep inside of me, I'm exposed to one of the most powerful and corrupt organizations in the magical world - the Mages' Guild. Barely knowing a spell from a few swear words and luck, I won't be able to evade them alone. And that's when I meet him.

I’ve woken up in a strange place, surrounded by strange people who hate me. They’re in the middle of a war, and I look like I belong on the wrong side of it. I'm not so different from most people. Like everyone else, I have life goals. Goal #1: Become a real girl instead of this invisible ghost thing I currently am. Goal #2: Convince the four men I've been haunting for the past five years to pick me to be their new toy after goal one is complete. Goal #3: Figure out who/what I am and why I can't remember anything past the five years I've been haunting this quad. Goal #4: Eat popcorn. See? Perfectly normal. Sort of. Gotta start small, after all. It's not like anyone else is perfect either.

Summary
My name is Vinna, and I've been keeping a lot of secrets.
You would too if you'd experienced some of the weird shit I have: red-eyed monsters chasing me, markings on my body appearing out of nowhere, a strange power that crackles colorfully over my skin from time to time, and don't get me started on the weapons I can conjure up almost out of nowhere.
Lucky for me, I have yet to meet someone whose ass I couldn't kick, inside the ring or out. I put that to the test when I run headfirst into a fight that brings all my secrets, and reality as I know it, crashing down around me. Now, I'm looking for answers and trying to piece together what the hell is going on. Paranormal is my new way of life. It's not going to be easy, and I'm not exactly welcome.
That is, until I meet the boys, and trust me, they are anything but boyish.
I'm up against elders who think I'm too powerful, a family who views me as a threat, and something lurking in the shadows that's been coming for me my whole life.
There's not a chance in hell I'm going down without a fight. I'm not lost anymore, and I'm about to show this world exactly what I can do.
Contains mature themes.

A real Cringeworthy book! 😖
I always read the fist chapter before buying a audiobook just to make sure I wasn’t going to waste my money and this had great potential however the author switches the main characters characteristics for someone completely different as well as younger and a 20 odd year old men quelling, giggling and doing other silly things isn’t a fully grown women’s reaction never mind a mans. It reads like a young teens book but has themes not suitable for them. I don’t even think it’s suitable for the characters as they all seem to be acting like 4 year olds. This review might seem harsh but it became so cringeworthy I stopped listening and that’s wasted my time and money.

Young adult
This book had a very good idea and could have been an excellent book. The six main people are in their 20’s but their narrative and behaviour would make a teenager cringe.
Suitable and possibly would be enjoyed by a young adult but by no one else.

Magic
This is a great start to this series, I really like how we got some answers toward the end but kept it open enough to crave the next book. There are a few twists in this one that will have you saying “I wondered” but they are not out of thin air either. The heroine is spectacular, she has sass from growing up the way she did and vulnerability as well. If you enjoy a good PNR that is a reverse harem, I would highly recommend starting this series. Narrative is excellent

Narration.... OVERLY dramatic ALL of the time
The story was okay. Much like many reverse harems out there. Not with as much connection to the mc and her "guys" though. It really didn't start to feel like the story was developing until 3/4 of the way through. Though, that could have just been the narrator. She continued to have this overly saccharin lilt to her voice, no matter the character. Every character sounded exactly the same. It was off putting, to say the least. Other narrators (like Saskia Maarleveld) are able to distinguish the characters with the slightest inflection or change in register. This narrator needs more work, I think. I won't be purchasing book 2.

horrible narrator
I am obsessed with this series and after rereading it twice I wanted to listen to it to bring it to life. the narrator is so horrible that I couldn't even finish the second chapter. she reads super slow, puts pauses in where they don't belong, and actually retracts from the story. it was better listening from the automated computer voice on my phone. don't waste your money!

I. Love. This. Book. My brain is so happy!
My brain has some quirks. Mainly that it struggles with being able to listen to certain tones, cadences, etc. It also finds safety and peace in repetition. Itis so hard to find a story I can hear over and over and over again - and that is narrated in a way that doesn't cause my brain to spaz out. I've already listened to this book 3 times, since 6/2. It's 6/5. It's available from my library on audiobook, so I checked it out there first. I was hooked on the story by "page 2" and knew I had to buy it by "page 2.5".
It's a fun, coming into your own, finding your place, and fighting for it story. I like that things heat up - but it's hot vs immediately raunchy. That wouldn't have fit the story just now. I like that people aren't perfect and make mistakes. I like that forgiveness, though forthcoming, isn't immediate. I like the tension and build-ups.
I've already pre-ordered book 2.
Thank you so much for great read and choosing a fantastic narrator.

Not for me
The narrator has a pleasant voice, but either the writing or the acting (or probably both) are not engaging. My mind wanders and I realize that I missed the last minute and have to rewind. A good book should be gripping. For me, this isn’t that type of book.
I didn’t finish the story, and I suspect that I am simply am not the target audience.
Best of luck to both the author and the narrator. I hope that this story resonates with others.

Characters: Vinna, Ryker, Knox, Valen, Bastien, Sabin

Story: This was a great beginning of what I feel like could be one of my favorite Reverse Harem series. I enjoyed the main character Vinna. She's strong and has a backbone and doesn't take any crap from anyone. She also has a vulnerable side which I felt for when it came out. I loved how her guys were so supportive of her even when she tried to push them away. I hated that her uncle and the rest of his group continued to hurt her throughout the story. I really can't wait to see where this story goes. This was an amazing book.
Narration: Mia Madison - I absolutely loved her narration. I think she will be a new favorite narrator of mine.

Book was great, narration wasn't as great.
I want to start by saying that I LOVE this series. I first read on kindle then bought the audio as soon as it came out. I'm an avid audio book listener and will buy book two as soon as the audio comes out for that one.
With that being said, I didn't care too much for the narrator here. I thought some of the timing was off, some wording was way too slow and drug out. It was just a bit annoying. I also wish there was a bit more distinction between the character voices. Books with many characters can get confusing, this is especially true with Reverse Harem as you have multiple males introduced at the same time. I prefer a narrator that can really voice that distinction. Again, it wasn't bad, just wasn't great for me.
I will remain a huge Ivy Asher fan and will read and listen as long as she keeps releasing!

I very much enjoyed this book. It was in one of the top RH for me. I really really appreciate a solid and clean writer and that was this author for me! Can’t wait for the next one!
