About this listen
A fallen disciple. A kingdom in chaos. A destiny that cannot be escaped.
Faro was once a loyal warrior, fighting to free Evania from the grip of a tyrant. Now, he is something else—something not quite human.
Betrayed by Eli, the fallen chosen one of Evania, Faro was struck down and left for dead as dark magic reshaped the land. Stripped of his past and hunted as an enemy, he wanders a kingdom on the brink of ruin—where ancient powers stir and war looms on the horizon.
But fate is not finished with him yet. As Eli’s monstrous enforcers tighten their hold on Evania, the strings of destiny begin to weave a new path—one that binds Faro and his unlikely companions to a greater purpose.
Whispers of an unfinished prophecy speak of a lost heir, a ruler who could restore balance to the fractured kingdom. But as Faro pieces together the fragments of his past, the battle for Evania’s future will test them all.
To reclaim his place in this world, Faro must confront sorcerers, warriors, and the dark forces that seek to control him. His journey will lead through mythical lands, monstrous battles, and the long-buried ruins of forbidden power. Yet the deeper he digs, the more he begins to question—was he ever meant to be a hero at all?
For fans of sword & sorcery, action-packed adventure, and epic world-building. If you love thrilling quests, warriors forged in battle, and magic-fueled destinies, embark on Dungeon Lords: The Lost Disciple today.

The early chapters take their time setting the scene and building the world, which I can appreciate. That said, once things got going (especially around the midpoint), it really started to click for me. There are some great nods to classic fantasy and gaming and the book definitely lays a solid foundation for a much larger story, and the ending has me curious to see where it goes next. Overall, it’s a strong debut that grows as it goes. If you’re into immersive fantasy with deep roots and a slow build, I’d say give it a shot, you might be surprised by how much it hooks you by the end.
A great start!
