Like many people I suspect, I bought this book based on the authors Heckenburg and Lucy Claybourne books which are excellt. Sadly this is not in the same class. The story was quite boring, repetitive, predictable and uninspiring. The characters are clichés and unlovable. I couldn't care less what happened to any of them. The ending was obvious from the final act beginning. The story was very unlikely and frankly just not that interesting. Shame as I had high hopes. Unless you are filling your Paul Finch bingo card I would not bother with this one.

The narrator’s portrayal of women made listening a struggle for me. I have bought all of Paul Finch’s books and this one should have been buried. Not one of his best and probably one of the worst books ever by anyone…

Disappointed

Very gory, too long, and the ending was predictable.
I found the voices of the different characters extremely irritating, and the in-breath taken by the narrator at the start of each sentence extremely distracting.

About an hour too long

Although this was easy listening, the format was repetitive and relentless. Like all Paul Finch novels, it was enjoyable enough, it just doesn't compare to many of his other books. The narrator was fine at telling the story but pretty bad at doing voices. Overall I had to give it just 3 stars, as I was quite disappointed unfortunately.
