Summary

The Second Draeken War has yet to occur, but his victory is assured. When all life stands on the brink the nations will be forced to gather but it will be too late. The army built to exterminate them will not fail in its purpose. Unless the future is altered. Eleven impossible tasks will give the races a singular hope, to defend their lives as one people. Their completion will not be known. Their impact cannot be measured. But even the Oracle cannot do it alone.

the perfect prequel

Any additional comments?

I bought books 1-3 ,then checked out the series before listening to see how many more books were there, a customer review of book 4 said that it really should have been book one and anyone starting from scratch should start there, so that's exactly what I did and it fits perfectly! starting from book 4 gives you a greater insight of the story line and knowledge of some of the main characters and their back story which made book one a far more enjoyable "read" would definitely recommend

Should be book one

This book starts the journey of Lumineia and if you want to grasp the other books better then start with this one it's a flawless story and fills a lot of gaps it doesn't spoil anything but it does explain much

We Train to Fight to Fight for Life

This review refers to the series.

I have loved all of Ben Hale's books and the depth of world and character building and this last book, in particular, was my favourite as it showed the history of the preparation for what was to come and the sadness that would have to be endured.

The narration by Derek Perkins has added to making this series a must to listen to.

This is a prequel to the trilogy

Although this is book 4 I recommend that it is read first. This is the prequel to the 2nd draeken war trilogy and it tells the story of Ianna and Mazer. Ianna is the oracle and can see the future and she sees the destruction of everyone in a future war with dark demons but she also sees a number of ways that she can intervene to improve the chances of the people of lumineia winning....this is the list as in the title.

Superb

"The List Unseen" was Excellent!! Well written, well explained and helped connect all of the dots from the previous book "Seven Days". This story took us back to Taryn Elseerian's parents and what they went through to help make sure their son and the world would be ready for the Second Draeken War. It takes us to the beginning of when Ianna(Taryn's mother) & Mazer(Taryn's Father) meet and their journey of escape and adventure to help with what Ianna has seen in her forsight about the coming war. It is an action packed story full of this amazing journey they go on to accomplish Ianna's LIST of things that she/they need to accomplish before they die.
I LOVE a "strong" female heroine in MOST of my stories that I read whether they be Fantasy or just a good Adult Drama & Ianna is that and more...what I also like is that Mazer is a "true" partner/friend that shows her he is there for the LONG haul and not because it is easy because it isn't...His love for her is demonstrated through out the entire story. I enjoyed having the insight to Ianna's head and what she is thinking and feeling about the times she is fighting the battle that she cannot always say the "whole" truth...One part in the book that had me on edge and tears running down my face is when Mazer has had enough and Confronts Ianna about what she has been holding back from telling him...
This couple is a PERFECT match in more ways than one.
If I was TOTALLY honest about this book it would probably rate more like a "4.5" because I feel this book and their relationship calls for a good "love scene". The tension these 2 build up throughout their story is one that I feel could've exploded when they finally do come together. BUT I knew it was Not to be because that is not what Ben(the author) writes or at least hadn't written in the last 3 previous books...because there is some really good tension building with Taryn & you know who in the book "Seven Days"...
I love that even though I knew Taryn's parents end was coming - Ben had me right there to the end crying my eyes out and hoping, just hoping that maybe it would end differently...When an author can do that to me - that makes them an "unforgettable" author to me & I will ALWAYS pick up their books to read because I know they can pull those emotions out of me and just get me lost for awhile in my world of reading or as in this case the "World of Lumineia".
I LOVED this story and I want to THANK Ben Hale for becoming an author and writing about such a different world that is SOOO different from anything else I read...

Why make a list?

What did you love best about The List Unseen?

To me this should have been the first book in the Lumineia series. This book introduces the reader to the characters and reason things are. Ben Hale pulls at your heart strings as the Auricle defies her position in order to set certain items into play before the world faces it's second Draccon war, a war to end all human life.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved Ianna. She possessed the ability to go forward, to never give up. She even defied the constraints of her position and feel in love with a "half-breed". She gave up her magical abilities in order to help save her daughter and the world.

Which character – as performed by Derek Perkins – was your favorite?

I loved The Hunter. He was tasked with bringing the Auricle home -- dead or alive. But events happened that changed this man forever and set his course in a most unusual way...raising a baby with no mother's help.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I listened to this book while walking on my treadmill. There are so many times I laughed, cried and even caught myself holding my breath. Would they make it? Will the world be better off in the end?

Any additional comments?

as so many have said Derek Perkins has a marvelous control of his voice. He makes each character come alive by the inflection of his voice.

Read this book first

This book addresses several questions that are presented in books 1-3. I would have enjoyed the series better if I would have read this book first.

excellent book well written and narrated.

A really good book well written and well narrated. This book explains a lot on how things got set up for the series actually and could be read first if you wanted.

This should be the first book...

Was sooo amazing, wish I listen to this book first. To me it felt like watching the first movie to a trilogy and finally understanding what's going on. If you have not started the series yet..start with this one. Meant to be the last book but should have been the first.
