About this listen

An intense look at the rules of high school attraction - and the price that's paid for them. It happens every year. A list is posted, and one girl from each grade is chosen as the prettiest, and another is chosen as the ugliest. Nobody knows who makes the list. It almost doesn't matter. The damage is done the minute it goes up.This is the story of eight girls, freshman to senior, "pretty" and "ugly." And it's also the story of how we see ourselves, and how other people see us, and the tangled connection of the two.

I love this story so much❤️
I was quite peed off at the cliff hanger though, I would have really liked to find out more of what happened next.
But still this shows the real struggle of teenagers in high school 👏

Gripping 😍

Okay, so I know the title of this review makes it seem as if I didn't like the book so much, but really, this was a brilliant book, which tackled a lot of issues that Young people have to tackle today. To be honest, there were a few relatable characters for me in the book, which is pretty rare I find, me being such an odd ball. But I adored the book. My only pet hate is the ending. Why the cliffhanger!!! Okay, so I can get why the author put the cliffhanger there, but still, it just made me so sad and kind of angry. I wish there was more, and there were so many characters I wanted to know more about and what happened to them all after the homecoming dance, especially Jennifer. Jennifer is ending was really unsatisfactory for me, but I can appreciate why the ending was like that, the book is meant to show the consequences of labelling and the pressures upon young girl today, and not to give us a Disney happy ending, but still, it just… overall though, I loved the book. I read it a few years ago and loved it, and this is my second time reading it, and it's still going strong for me.

Brilliant book, horrible ending

Would you listen to The List again? Why?

I would of course listen to 'The List' again is it a well written book that takes you through the thoughts of 8 girls who are named on the list, it tells the stores behind each girl how then ended up on the list and the effect it has good and bad.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The List?

Memorable moment it the book would be the reactions of the girls, towards the list at bringing and end of the book, and the effect a simple stamped piece of paper with one persons opinion, it has on there lives.

What about Allison McLemore’s performance did you like?

she was great with voices for each character and portrayed then different from each other keep it wast to remember who was who especially with the seperated chapter of each character.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

for me it was the whole books ability to channelled how these girls would of felt, being names on a list of this kind, especially the way teenage girls mind work, and the inside turmoil that can be caused by a list of this kind.

Any additional comments?

A great teen read and really gets in the mind of teenage girls.

Great concept, well written.

the ending could have been much better. I was expecting some unexpected turn or reveal but nothing. boring end for otherwise great and entertaining book.
