Summary
Mickey Haller is a Lincoln lawyer--a criminal defence attorney who operates out of the back of his car, a Lincoln, taking whatever cases the system throws in his path. He's been in the business a long time, and he knows just how to work it.
When a Beverly Hills rich boy is arrested for brutally beating a woman, Haller has his first high-paying client in years. The evidence mounts on the defence's side, and Haller might even be in the rare position of defending a client who is actually innocent. But then the case starts to fall apart, neither the suspect nor the victim are quite who they seem--and Haller quickly discovers that when you swim with the sharks, it's easy to wind up as prey.

A great read with suspense to the end
A great story well written and well read. Full marks to Michael Connelly for starting with a bang and holding to the end. The twists and turns were great. Whilst we all know how it is always going to end but getting there is the fun.

Thoroughly enjoyable
I have always enjoyed books by Michael Connelly. A clever author with a sharp mind for a good story. This was one of the best I have listened to - a well-constructed story which held my interest perfectly and which was well-narrated by Adam Grupper. I am now going to download the next book in the Micky Haller series.

Great story
it was a good story read and performed well. unfortunately during chapter 26 there was a bit of jumping in the recording. I tried to reinstall the book but it didn't solve the issue.

Better than the TV Series
Riveting from beginning to the end. Loved/love the Netflix series hopefully more to come. Both the fast pace and excellent choice of reader give an air of authenticity to the experience. On to book 2 now…..
