Summary

For centuries the tribes of the Nadir have suffered under the despotic tyranny of their Gothir overlords. Disunited and distrustful of one another, the tribes await the coming of a Messianic warlord, who will unite them against the oppressors.

Into this swirling, chaotic landscape come three men who will change the fate of the continent: Talisman, the mysterious, enigmatic Nadir warrior, haunted by his past and filled with dreams of finding the Uniter; Sieben the Poet, searching for the mysteries of life and love; and Druss the Axeman, determined to find two mystic gems to heal a mortally wounded friend.

Together they will journey across a war-torn land and descend beyond the gates of Hell, where a long-dead king holds the key to a secret that will change the world.

The Legend of Deathwalker, this battle-charged tale of Druss among the Nadir, completes the circle begun with Legend and Druss the Legend.

Superb book, technical issue though

Sean Barrett as usual delivers a superb rendition of the always excellent Gemmell. So why three stars? Needed a proper listen through by the publishers. A couple of chapters loop back to the start half way through, which is a little frustrating, and a bit of a poor show. If this happened in the printed book it would have been picked up. Not sure why it’s been left like this for audio?

Great listen spoilt by poor editing

It's a real shame that reputation of some sections spoils the flow of a good yarn. Not the fault of the author or narrator but the production. Hope the next one is better.

Great story, confusing glitches

Amazing narrator, fantastic story, but spoiled by several glitches in the editing.

There's even a glitch in the additional 'sneak peak' reading at the end.

brilliant

I love Druss and his adventures. The audio book kept repeating chunks though, like when a CD skips back to the beginning of a track.

An origin story done right.

This is the conclusion of the Druss story which fills in the gaps and fleshed out the story of the Legend.
I did notice a recording flaw in chapter 12 (repeated text at 26 mins) but this is the first time I've experience such a problem.
Overall, well worth the time to listen.

Superb heroic fantasy with great narration

What did you like most about The Legend of Deathwalker?

Drugs the Legend, what more can be said. Heroic fantasy at its best. Great narrator that brings the characters to life. Well worth a download.

Wonderful listen

I think I love this story best of all the Druss tales, I laughed (a lot), I gritted my teeth quite a bit, felt anxious and grieved. This is a fair ride with the emotions. After having listened to the other Druss stories I felt like he was someone I knew, liked and very much respected. I have also grown extremely fond of Druss's pal Seben who is every bit as endearing a character as Druss is but so opposite and hilarious. Another top notch story from the Master of this genre.
Cannot fault the narrator, Sean Barrett is utterly brilliant in bringing David Gemmell's characters to life. I'm so glad SB was given these books to narrate.
If you haven't listened to this book, get it, you won't be disappointed.

Great book and actor. The recording has repeats

Great book, if your fare is a bittersweet, gritty fantasy. The recording has some repeats.
